Great performance with few false alarms,

I have been using the Escort C-65 for a month now and the performance has been great. The dsiplay is simple and easy to read, and the voice feature is helpful in keeping your eyes on the road. Minimal false alarms, even in the city, and the long range has saved me more than once. The Smartcord is cool as it has the mute button on the cord, so when it does go off, you can simply reach down and mute it without the reach to the window. Very happy with the unit and would recommend to friends.

Escort C65 is same as Beltronics RX65,but RX65 sell for $339 in Amazon,compare to $199 for C65..
Pro price $199 The best RD under $200 period multiple display option(tech, threat display, standard) Autoscan mode USA and International KA mode Same Ka sensitivy as X50,RX65,9500ix,9500i,But much cheaper Comes with soft case+coil smart mute cord Female Voice Alert Con Cheap Plastic Housing/casing Terrible Mount/suction cup Terrible Rampup VOICE alert is not loud enough(alert tone volume is okay) for $199 C65 is Best value Mid Price range Radar Detector Period... Better then all Bel Vector series RDs,Whistler SE RDs...... But if you have $$$$,I would recommend Escort Redline,Valentine 1,9500ix for Window mount RD...or 9500ci,STi-R remotes... and Stay away from Cobra and RMR radar detectors Cobra<RMR<Whistler<Bel<Escort,V1 my current setup is V1+STi-R and Redline

This is my first radar unit. I do a lot of highway travel in Arizona. Unlike some of my friends that have detectors I do not consider myself a "speeder." However, in Arizona, the common practice on the highway is to drive at least 5 to 10 mph over the speed limit. There have been times I've been driving at 80 mp only to notice someone right on my bumper, who will then give you a dirty look or the one finger salute when they pass you at 90. Drive at the speed limit in Arizona and you're setting yourself up for a road rage situation. I'm not saying that you should drive at an unsafe speed just because other people are. My point is that just to keep up with traffic you have to go somewhat over the limit.
I've had this detector for about a month now and have been satisfied with its performance. It has warned me several times when a cop with a radar gun is ahead. I don't think laser has really caught on in this state so I do not know how well the laser detector works. Arizona has a lot of "photo radar" locations and I know people that have bought detectors after getting caught with photo radar. What they do not realize is that the permanent photo locations use sensors in the road to detect vehicle speed. A detector is useless. The movable photo radar vehicles do use radar though. Pros: * The unit, while a little on the heavy side is fairly compact. * The display is very bright and easily readable day and night, even with polarized sunglasses. * The volume is adjustable and when set at high is quite loud. My hearing is not that great and it is fine for me. My daughter even tells me to turn it down sometimes when she is trying to listen to music on her headphones in the back seat. * There are various detection modes and options that you can set. However the "autodetect" mode works very well. * The smart cord is very handy if you have the detector located somewhere hard to reach. * There are a lot of nice features which you can read about in the product description which I won't repeat. * It comes in a nice carrying case and they provide extra suction cups. Cons: * The manual, while fairly well written, is dated. It describes the Safety Warning System (SWS) as a new technology that is growing every day. However, SWS was started many years ago and never caught on. It's my understanding that the company that create SWS declared bankruptcy a few years ago and almost no agencies use SWS anymore. The SWS website the manual tells you to go to is gone. I have never had a SWS alarm and don't think it's used anymore in Arizona. * Every time you power it on it goes through a start-up mode and sounds off all of its various alarms. It's very annoying. * While the display is very bright, the red alphanumeric display reminds me of old technology... something you'd find on a 20 year old LED wristwatch. I'd prefer amber, green or blue. * In Phoenix the detector sounds off , with a low grade signal, when approaching many traffic lights. They must have radar emitting detectors set up for red light cameras and to detect traffic flow. There is probably a way to program the detector to ignore these. However I get a lot of false alarms at many major intersections. This is not really a con of the unit,it is doing what it is supposed to. Just a negative of using detectors. You will get false alarms at times. Overall I'm satisfied with both the performancea and feature of the unit.

I have had this detector in my 2005 Corvette for over 5 years and have never failed to know when someone is trying to detect me. Need I say more?

I highly suggest this product. I have owned it since December of 2009 and it works great. From my research this product was made with joint efforts of Escort and Beltronics. Both of these companies make great products. Prior to buying this one I had a Beltronic 995 that I passed on to my husband in which, he still uses today. This product works well at alerting me in plenty of enough time to react. I would definitely recommend this product.

I have had my Escort for a few weeks. I upgraded from a whistler. Right away I noticed a decrease in false alarms. This to me was amazing as the whistler liked to go off at every turn. The alarm sounds of the Escort are much less nerve racking and sounds loudly at first but will then cut the volume down. Another cool thing is the smart cord. This cord has a led only when it is plugged into the radar detector and has another led for when it is detecting radar. Again not in an annoying way. The escort has a dark mode which almost shuts all the led lights off so as not to distract you at night but the audibles will sounds and the smart cord led will light up but since it is down by the cigarette lighter and not in your face it does not distract you from the road. Overall I give this 5 stars hands down compared to the radar detectors I have had in the past.

I did a lot of research before buying a radar. I read many reviews and roamed through the forums. I finally settled on this one as it is a rebadged beltronics RX65 which has a very good detection. I live in chicago, so I had the chance to test the false alerts. On regular autoscan, I would get a few, around CTA train station and especially in downtown. They were all X bands and plus I do not speed in the city. On Low X city, its a bit quieter, but still has false alerts. You know its working at least. Ka Band detection is where this puppy shines. I already picked up two LEOs hiding on the first day of using it in the suburbs. I definately would recommend it for those who do not need a GPS radar and just want detection.
I only gave 4 stars because the suction cups do not work very well as I had the radar fall twice. But other than that, I am happy with my purchase.

Our C65 goes through blinks and noises as if it turned on, then, it sits quietly. It was silent as my lady pulled over with the flashing lights behind her. It is impossible to know that it is not working until it is too late! Calling their 800 number was ineffective. After a long hold time the cold fish at customer support suggested I return the device to the retailer as the turnaround time for service with Escort/Beltronics is a few weeks.
Seems to me that the consumer gets shafted, again.

Here is a top of the line match anything microwave detector for the price.
Only things it lacks, stealth and GPS data base. Otherwise works as well as my Bel STi but $200+ less. Put it in my not go as fast PU. The Honda Si has the Bel STi If you do not need stealth and a hard case, this is a rare deal. Pro Great Deal for the price Con No auto dim or stealth

This is a very good unit!!! I have an issue with the sound though. I have an RX55 and the sound on that unit is loud. The sound comes on loud enough for the alert, however you can't hear the verbal announcement. The unit is fairly heavy also. Little pricey as well. Some better units out there for less money.
