I am an IT professional and have had experience with more than 10 different antivirus products. In the old days, products like Norton (Symantec), McAfee, and Trend Micro ran fairly efficiently and didn't have a big impact on your CPU while they ran scans or did realtime protection.

However as all of the vendors began adding features like firewalls, anti-spam protection, and tool bars for safer surfing, their products have become so cumbersome that you will see a very noticeable impact on the performance of your computer.

When NOD32 entered the scene, they changed all of that. They built a no nonsense AV product that has one of the most highly rated protection levels while having minimum impact on your computer. Version 4 of Eset Nod32 continues that trend. Even the Eset Smart Security product which includes the firewall, anti-spam, antispyware, and AV is much more efficient than the competing products.

When my license ran out for my home PCs, I came here to Amazon and bought this 3 user pack to save some money. It is cheaper than renewing online and not really much of a hassle to register and get your new username and password.

Nod32 version 4 comes in both 32bit and 64bit versions, so running it on Windows 7 64bit is not a problem. Once you register and get your username and password, you can even download the latest versions from the Eset website.

Overall I still cannot find a better AntiVirus product on the market. There are always new ones cropping up, but none have shown me any improvements over Nod32.

I like ESET, but to avoid hassle at renewal time you should buy from ESET's website instead of here. For one thing when it comes time to renew your virus protection they need the info off the bar-code from the original packaging to tell which dealer you bought it from, but even having that still leads to inconvenience. Luckily I still had the box after one year, but then you have to call the associated dealer on your dime and get more info. The dealer isn't Amazon, but whoever supplied it to Amazon. It took me a call to Arizona and then one to San Diego to track down the right info. Second if you want to change the number of machines you can install ESET on, or upgrade to the Security Suite you need to do that as well AND call ESET. It's a pain. After all this I had to play phone tag with ESET's accounting department as they decided I might not be the person on my Credit Card. Now checking up on that isn't A Bad Thing -- I'd rather have them check, than allow a fraudulent charge, but it was one more layer of stuff to do to renew. Buy from ESET direct and save yourself some hassle when it comes time to renew.

I did NOT buy this from amazon...I downloaded directly from ESET.
My old stuff had almost lapsed it's subscription, and I did not want to renew it.
I have used nearly all brands over the years. The reviews in CU and amazon made me think of trying it.
My current home desktop is an HP quad-core with 4G RAM and Vista 32 SP2+.
The software went on quickly and worked great! I could barely tell it was operating when scanning.
The MS performance meter showed only one core running the Anti-Virus. Way Cool!

Ive used Norton for years and years, but I grew tired of all the extra junk I didnt need. And it took way too many resources. The computer was new and fast until I installed Norton.
I tried Panda after Norton , what a joke. Then a couple of years ago Mirco Center had ESET on sale. Simple, quiet, did'nt steal a lot of memory or brag about some tracking cookie it vanquished.
Sold.
This year we bought it from Amazon, free shipping and the best price. I compared it all over the internet.
We have used it now for two years, installs quickly with your new key. Repeat users just type in the new key, I just installed it a week ago and dont remember having to come up with any prior barcodes or proof of purchase. I didnt even open the new CD . It downloaded the latest updates I dont think it ever needed a reboot, and bam, your done in like 2 minutes... Sorry Norton, Panda(no comment...). ESET keep it up!!

I have used to other two big anit-virus software packages and find the ESET product to be far better. My computers run quicker and the anti-virus protection seems to have never failed to catch something.

The best feature of all is that it is also less expensive!

The product is lean and mean, kept track of most attempted infections and even removed spyware that just happened to slip past before it was installed. In recent tests, nod32 kept its head above the water as compared to Kaspersky, which in my mind, is the only competitor in this cost and this space.

I uninstalled McAfee and installed Eset Nod32 on all of my computers. It updates regularly and operates in the background without affecting performance of any of my machines. System performance improved after removing McAfee and it could not have been easier to install/setup. I highly recommend this to everyone!

Have this installed on 3 pc's 1 laptop and 2 desktops. My moms laptop used to get some type of virus every few months when using Bit Defender, ever since switching she has no issues, virus alerts and it seems to catch most any threat. On my desktop I do heavy downloads on also has not caught any virus since so very happy, I know there's plenty of free AV but to pay a little price and no headaches or having to restore the pc is a major time saver. I will keep using Eset as long as it keeps me protected w/o issues. On top of a great program they have top notch customer support that responds very quickly to help you out.

I have been a long-timer user and fan of ESET NOD32. I used both the second and third versions without any problems. NOD32's consistency and negligeable system resource usage always attracted me. But it's a totally different story with the fourth version. I installed the CD on 2 of my computers but both times I got the "Database could not be updated/Virus Signature database update failed" message. My computer is at risk now since its signature database is almost a year old. I visited the online customer support and performed all the suggested instructions but to no avail. I sent my problem to the Customer Service team but their answer was not useful at all. It's a shame they don't have a customer service telephone number at all (I'd be grateful if someone could provide me with the number, if there's one). I really don't know why the Username and Password that ESET itself emailed to me after registration does not work in the update process.

This was exactly what I needed. I'll pimp this to all my friends! I'm glad to be rid of bloatware like Norton or McAfee. They are complete garbage. ESET NOD32!!!!!!
