5.0 out of 5 stars ESP ROCKS!, July 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Esp (Audio CD)
Woah. ESP kicks a$$. I first heard Eric Singer, Bruce Kulick, John Corabi and Karl Cochran play together at a KISS convention last year and have been a huge fan of their music and personas ever since. I bought ESP hoping it contained the same raucus enthusiasm I heard live. It's even better than I remember.

This is one of those records that compels you to play it over and over and then play it again for your rock aficionado friends. My favorite songs are Set me free, Four day creep and Teenage nervous breakdown but everything is great- for all the right reasons. Even Ace Frehley graces this record with a wild ride solo on Hendrix' Foxey Lady.

For students of great song writing and fans of guitar driven rock and roll, this is required listening. Hope they tour soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars ESP ROCKS!!!, July 7, 1999

I bought ESP last February at a KISS expo and have not stopped playing it since! Eric Singer and Bruce Kulick are without a doubt awesome together. This CD is pure fun from beginning to end and probably Kulick's best guitar work since Revenge. Karl Cochran is a really great vocalist and guitarist - I had no idea! Corabi rocks too - never really knew much about him but he has such a great voice and so does Eric for that matter. I love how there are three lead vocalists on one CD - reminds me of KISS or the Beatles - just great. My favorite track is "Still Alive and Well" sung by Karl - pure power. I also really love "Set Me Free", " SOS" and "Changes". Bruce plays his best solo ever on "Changes"!!! "Goin' Blind" is a real treat - finally a version that sounds as good as that song is. But I saved the best for last - "Foxy Lady" features lead guitar work by ACE FREHLEY and I promise you this is the best ACE solo since the 70's - just awesome. He solos in the middle and also ends the song with classic ACE. Makes me smile every time I hear it. They even through in a few bars of "She" on the ending. Very cool to hear ACE with Eric and Bruce on the same track.

Overall, probably the best all around rock band out there! Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars 70's Hard Rock Bliss, May 21, 2005

If you were a teenager in the 70's, this is the stuff they played on the radio- Nazareth, The Who, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Johnny Winter, Humble Pie, Sweet, Hendrix. O'kay, they didn't play Montrose, but if you were a musician you sure as hell listened to that band. This is four road tested hard rockers playing what inspired them to be musicians in the first place. Every song is sung with passion and played tight as hell. I had no idea Eric Singer was such a good singer. His vocals on Teenage Nervous Breakdown and Set Me Free hit the spot. Karl Cochran(Ace Frehley Band) has got a husky voice that is perfect for Johnny Winter's Still Alive and Well. He also does a fine job on that nutty Kiss song Goin Blind. As stupid as Kiss could be, you gotta hand it to them they wrote some classic riffs back in the 70's. Former Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick flashes his formidable chops throughout- check out his smokin solo on Hendrix's Changes. John Corabi is a true blue rock and roller that sings his ass off on Free Ride, Never Before and S.O.S. This album is just a pleasure. Made for the love of music and no other reason. I hope there is more to come from these guys.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!!!, August 12, 1999

I got the Euro limited edition of this album and it doens't contain the 2 extra tracks the regular one does but you can bet the house i WILL get the regular version! This CD ROCKS HARD! Every track is truely amazing. My favorite songs are FOUR DAY CREEP, esp when it's John's turn to sing. His voice is so strong, as well as Karl's and Eric's. I also like STILL ALIVE AND WELL and FOXY LADY (with Ace Frehley on lead guitar). If you are a Kiss fan, Union fan, Motley Crue (1994) era fan or just plain ROCK N ROLL fan, BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! I PROMISE!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great rock re-created!, October 25, 1999

As a long fan of KISS (since I was three and now I'm 26!), I really love anything associated with KISS. I think ESP is great! I consider myself lucky to have seen them live (up close!!). I got some great pictures of them playing and even had them sign my ESP CD!!!!! I'm not sure what the future holds for ESP, but I hope there's more to come! I really like Four Day Creep and Free Ride. Also, Won't Get Fool Again is great, too!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
