4.0 out of 5 stars Good Buy
I found that this product has been very helpful. I am able to use the extra storage compartments for baby oil and diaper rash ointments in the 2 bottom side compartments and his brush and comb and anything else small in the 2 upper side compartments. It seems to fit diapers well also. I have a small problem with the bottom wipes drying out and turning yellow. However,...

I bought two wipe warmers (one for upstairs & one for down): this one and Prince Lionheart. Both do their jobs fine, although I favor the Prince Lionheart because of its pop-up feature. The only reason I purchased the Especially for Baby (EFB) w/ Diaper Organizer was because I was trying to 'kill two birds with one stone'. I was planning to use the EFB wipe warmer downstairs in our play room and needed storage to go along with it. However I found that the accompanying diaper organizer is really only useful for holding my infant's diapers (approx. 25 or so size-2 diapers) because the side pockets are indeed too small and shallow for anything bigger than a small jar of vaseline. Also, I didn't realize how restricting it is that the EFB only fits Huggies-size wipes, not Pampers...so I buy Pampers pop-up wipes for my Prince Lionheart and Huggies for the EFB. No huge deal because I'm overall satified with how the EFB functions (i.e. warms the wipes), I was just disappointed about discovering the limiting features after I assembled the product. Another discouraging feature I found with the EFB is that the warmer itself too easily disconnects and often slides off the organizer base (dumping my wipes out all over). In fairness, I should mention that we have the organizer hanging on the side of our 'pack & play' (which apparently it wasn't designed for because it hangs lop-sided). The one feature I do appreciate on the EFB (that Prince Lionheart does Not have) is the on/off switch. So basically, this wipe warmer is comparable with other brands...my advice would be not to purchase it for the diaper organizer like I did (you can use a basket, diaper hanger, or some kind of shelf instead) and to know that it is not designed for the convenient pop-up wipes, like Pampers-brand. I rated this product three stars for the limiting features.

2.0 out of 5 stars plan on buying another, November 28, 2003
This review is from: Especially for Baby Wipe Warmer with bonus Diaper Organizer (Baby Product)
Like most other parents, I was happy at finding a warmer at a reasonable price, and this worked well for the first year but then it quit.

The organizer caddy was handy. It attaches to the side of your diaper table or crib with brackets that are included. Also included are some rubber "things" that help you adjust the brackets for a smaller widths; for instance, if you are attaching to a table instead of a crib. The front of the caddy is a zip-up net and inside you can fit about 15-20 diapers. There are two pockets on each side that I use to keep small bottles of lotion, diaper cream, etc. The warmer snaps onto the caddy so that it won't fall off the top easily.

It also has a tendency to "cook" the bottom wipes and turn them dark yellow to brown. It seems this is a problem with most warmers that warm from the bottom.

The wipes have a tendency to dry out, but I think that is the case with most warmers. I usually just add a bit of water every now and them to keep them from doing so (although this particular brand recommends against it, but my current one recommends TO DO it).

I was disappointed to find out that there was no warranty when it quit working. I spent the same amount of money on one at Wal-Mart and it has a 5 year warranty - long enough to at least get me through the diaper stage!

Specifics: It is plug-in and not battery operated. I think most units this size are plug-in. It fits all size wipes, but does not have the feature for pop up wipes. And it holds an entire refill size of wipes. It warms from the bottom, not the top. It is very easy to open and there is no lock for the lid. You cannot adjust the temperature. I think that is the same for most though.

It seems to fit diapers well also. I have a small problem with the bottom wipes drying out and turning yellow. However, after trying out different wipes (pampers wipes do not fit) I realized that Huggies Supreme wipes work the best. They don't dry out near as fast. Also, I still use the bottom wipes even if they are a little yellow. They don't hurt my sons skin. So I'm really not wasting any wipes and the wipes warm up quite well. Use the wipe the minute you take it out of the warmer though, otherwise the wipe will get cold quick. I think overall it's worth buying.

4.0 out of 5 stars The baby-booty deserves this., May 21, 2003

I'd like to give 4+ stars to the warmer, 3 stars for the diaper organizer. The wipey warmer is a luxury every baby deserves. I have 2, one upstairs and one down. I place the wipes in a ziploc bag inside the warmer. It minimizes dry-out. It may be a little laborious, but it really seems to help. Once they dry a bit, I add some water. The bottom wipe sometimes turns brown, so it's best not to pack too many in at a time so they can get circulated. It also helps to unplug it overnight to minimize drying. These are all minor hinderences, but the organizer is the bigger hassle. I have mine attached to the co-sleeper. Though it fits the edge snuggly, it doesn't take much to knock it off. The diapers are contained with a zippered area. I find it to be too much trouble to unzip it every time I need a diaper so I have just left it open, at which point, diapers end up scattered all over the floor. Now the diapers sit on my end table for a quick reach. The organizer isn't totally functionless, however, as I use it to store her extra burp rags. All in all, I'm glad I have the product, I have just modified it to suit my needs, and my baby doesn't protest to diaper changes anymore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Well for Newborns as a Night-Time Only Warmer, February 1, 2005
This review is from: Especially for Baby Wipe Warmer with bonus Diaper Organizer (Baby Product)
We used this warmer from our son's birth to about 6 months in his room hung over the side of the crib for those wee-hour-of-morning changes. The organizer pockets on this warmer were extremely helpful for these times as well since everything you need is right there! We never bought a separate changing station for his room either. We simply bought a waterproof pad and placed it under his touche for diaper changes. We figured the less we moved him, the less we would disturb him, and the easier time he would have going back to sleep. By 6 months we sold our diaper warmer w/ organizer since our son was sticking his fingers through the crib and digging through the items on the side pockets, and we couldn't find anywhere else to hang it. Besides this, he was sleeping through the night and cold wipes no longer disturbed him.

We learned to turn the wipes warmer on just before he went to bed and then shut it off when he awoke. Prior to this, we had problems with it drying out the wipes when left on permanently, but I've been told that almost all wipes warmer dry wipes out. To solve this problem, you can either turn the warmer off during the day or pour some water over the wipes. Either way, I recommend this gadget, especially for newborns!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good warmer, wished worked w/pop-up wipes, December 31, 2002

I've used this since 7/02 for my daughter and like it. It's on all of the time (although switch on the cord is nice to have when I need it). Like anything else during changing time, you need to move fast to keep it warm, but when the diaper is undone it's no time to be slow anyway. The bottom ones have turned yellow, but I just rotate those up to the top when I add wipes. The Pampers wipes didn't work for 2 reasons, too big and were pop-up wipes. Had to fold them in half a bit to get them to fit. Also end up coming out with a big string of them since there is nothing to regulate the pop-up flow. Huggies wipes work fine and also have no propylene glycol (Pampers Aloe do). Next time I'd buy one that held any type of wipe, but this one is fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a wonderful item for your infant!, October 8, 2002

When I first brought my son home from the hospital, I didn't have a wipe warmer. It broke my heart when my son cried and shivered from using cold wipes. My husband and I decided to purchase this wipe warmer. We hooked it up on the corner of our changing table and began using it immediately. I have to say I LOVE this warmer. It warms the wipes so nicely and my son loves the warmth it provides. I did have a problem with it drying out the wipes a bit, but I added a small amount of water to the wipes and have solved that problem. I use the bottom storage area intended for diapers as a holder for extra wipes. Just note, the wipe warmer fits the "Huggies" brand wipes perfectly, but not the "Pampers" brand, as they are too large. I highly recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Overall satisfied with it, June 15, 2003

I thought a wipe warmer was kind of a silly idea, but changing time was so traumatic, I went and bought this warmer. I only fill it half full, they seem to be warmer when there are less in there. I also add a little water, although it says not to. The bottom one or two does turn yellow, so I leave that one there and add on top. Changing time isn't near as traumatic, and there aren't screams on the changing table any more. The diaper organizer is useless, I don't use it. The pockets are too small for anything except the diaper rash cream. I bought it cause its the only one they had to offer on line. If I had it to do again, I'd have bought one that can accomodate pop up wipes, this one really only takes huggies. And I really like the pamper wipes.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT!, December 22, 2002
This review is from: Especially for Baby Wipe Warmer with bonus Diaper Organizer (Baby Product)
December 2002:
I love this product! Yes it dries out the last few wipes in the bottom...and turns them brown...but ALL wipe warmers do that! Losing a few wipes is WELL worth it! Most wipes will fit.I do think that Huggies wipes work best! It says not to add water, but if they do start to dry out, I have added a couple of tablespoons to it and that moistened them right up!

UPDATE:
It has been 2 years now. This warmer has been ON the entire time and still works great!

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of money ..., October 23, 2002
This review is from: Especially for Baby Wipe Warmer with bonus Diaper Organizer (Baby Product)
As the mother of my third baby I know how important it is to have a well organized changing station. So I thought what a great idea ... it warms the wipes, holds, diapers and all baby's lotions too. WRONG!

It does warm the wipes but it also dries them out in lightning fast time (2 days max) ... you can add water to them to remoisten them but this results in scalding the wipes near the bottom. The compartments on the sides of the organizer for lotion, diaper rash cream, thermometer, nasal aspirator, etc ... are virtually useless ... the items do fit in there and they FALL OUT! Small sample sizes will stay put but anyone who has a baby knows that buying in bulk saves you money. Next, the diaper storage area is so flimsy that the walls bow out away from the diapers when they are items placed in the side compartments. This results in diapers falling out of the stacker because the zipper rides up and opens. Also, I did not like the way this fit onto the crib or changing table ... the pieces used to secure it stick out and it is possible for your baby to get a hold of them.

I do not recommend this product. Save your money and warm the wipes in the palm of your hand for a few seconds before cleaning the baby with them. You'll be happier and so will your baby.
