A Nice Debut, December 24, 2005
This review is from: Especially for You (Audio CD)
"Especially for You" is the debut album from 35007. This is a decent album and a bit heavier than their subsequent releases. In my opinion, it isn't as good as the rest of their catalog, but it definitely has their sound. There are 9 songs listed on the CD cover, but you will find 35 tracks when playing it. The most unusual piece on the album is "Slide", which closes the album and is split into 27 tracks, the first 20 each being 10 seconds, and those are followed tracks of 20, 40, 35, 60, 65, 59, and 7 seconds respectively. Other tracks of interest include "Zandbak" and "Cosmic Messenger". I'll round this one up to four stars, but if you want their best then pick up "Liquid".
The group shrouds itself in mystery, not even listing the band member's names on the CD. However, over time they have become known. This CD has the lineup of Eeuwout Baart (vocals), Bertus Fridael (guitar), Michael Boekhoudt (bass), Mark Sponselee (sounds, synths), and Jacco Van Rooy (drums). The band also includes Luk Sponselee (vj), and Pidah Kloos (sound engineer) although one would have to have seen them live to completely understand their importance to the group.
