Great product,
This review is from: Especially for Baby Steam Sterilizer (Baby Product)
It is a great product. A lot of things can be fit into it, all sizes and shapes. Uses a small amount of water. I also have Avent sterilizer for the microwave which is also a good product, but requires a lot more water and there is less space to fit big bottles. The only disadvantage that I see is that compared to the Avent sterilizer for the microwave it takes a longer time to sterilize things, approximately 15 minutes. In the Avent sterilizer takes approximately 4 or 5 minutes. But still, I prefer the Baby Steam Sterilizer.

Not worth the money,

The sterilizer is hard to use with Dr Brown bottles b/c of the height of the bottles. I have to do the bottles and nipples separately and it tends to leak a lot of water.

Overall I am pleased with this product. Yes, there are a few small problems but like another reviewer wrote, they are very small concerns when considering how well this product works. It is easy to use and I don't think 8 minutes to sterilize is an inconvenience at all as oppose to the "5 minute microwave Avent". I also think it's hillarious that reviewers are complaining about using the 8 oz. Dr. Brown bottles in this sterilizer. I use Dr. Brown bottles and all you have to do is sterilize the bottles first, then do the load of the accesories...no big deal. I feel it gets the job done to my satisfaction and it is no hassle.

I just bought this sterilizer and I think it's great. It doesn't take too long and it's VERY easy to use. The only problem is that I really don't like cleaning it. That part sucks but other than that it's great.

Dr Browns WILL fit...,
This review is from: Especially for Baby Steam Sterilizer (Baby Product)
I bought this sterilizer because it was significantly cheaper than the Avent brand, and should do the same job. I've used the Avent one many years ago, but am now using Dr Brown's bottles and worried that they wouldn't fit.I've been using the new sterilizer for a month now and am very happy with it. In response to previous reviewers' concerns: * Yes, there is a brown scum sometimes builds up, but like all appliances, it should be cleaned regularly and I think it says more about the quality of the water than the unit...I use boiled water to minimize build up. * The 8oz Dr Brown's bottle WILL fit with a little ingenuity. I don't use the top level but balance the teats etc on the bottle divider instead, and place the straws upside down in the middle bottle holder, caps on the lowest level. I sterilize less bottles so all the other bits & pieces will fit in - usually just do 4 bottles at a time.

Great Item, but NOT exclusive to Amazon,

This review is from: Especially for Baby Steam Sterilizer (Baby Product)
Hi,I bought this same unit at Target, under the label "First Years," for about $30.00 I love it, have used it many times a day since ds was born 5 months ago. If it broke I would buy another one. I would even by this one at Amazon if I couldn't find it at Target anymore. But I subtracted a star b/c it is dishonest of Amazon to change nothing but the label and claim an "exclusive." Shame on Amazon.

Broke after a month,

The sterilizer worked pretty well for about a month. Then (as others have also noted) the on/off switch stopped working. My guess is poor quality control.

Deposit problem,

I really like this sterilizer with one exception, there seem to be a brown deposit on the hot plate after each sterilization process. After the inital 5 uses, there was a burning smell and I found brown/burning deposit on the hot plate. The deposit can be removed but it comes back after every use. I also notice the deposit will rise with the steam and latch onto the bottles, nipples and caps etc. Has anyone experience this effect? I have exchange for another but the result is the same but now thinking of getting the Advent steamer.

A Lifesaver for us,
This review is from: Especially for Baby Steam Sterilizer (Baby Product)
I love this sterilizer. I don't understand the bad reviews! I have several different brands of bottles, including Evenflo, and it all fits in there perfectly. And it was very easy to operate, and to clean. We have hard water, and so boiling water to sterilze was a pain because it left horrible water deposits in the bottles and nipples. Plus it took forever to sterilize that way. Now washing and sterlizing has become an easy chore. Highly recommended!!!
