This 3D jigsaw puzzle is made for assembly at either the beginner or advanced level. All Esphera 360 puzzle pieces have a small number located on the non-image side. Beginners can assemble the pieces in numerical order, while advanced puzzlers can assemble the puzzle in sections, according to the image. When finished, place the sphere on the plastic puzzle stand for a beautiful decorative display. First let me say, I grabbed this puzzle at walmart for 32.44 and didn't realize the price as it was mixed in with other puzzles - pretty steep for a puzzle. I can report that the puzzle did work very well. I had no idea how a 3D puzzle would work and worried my 10yr old would get frustrated if it caved in. The pieces are some type of stiff material and snap together to hold the shape, so no caving in. The puzzle has numbers on the back side of the pieces making it feasible for a younger person to assemble, but you still have to look at the picture side of the pieces to decide how they fit together. Since geography is often overlooked in school, it is a great educational toy. My son does like puzzles and given the price, I would only recommend the product for people who enjoy puzzles. I hope my son will eventually try putting it together without depending on the numbers.

My boyfriend and I love working puzzles. I read reviews of other sphere globe puzzles and this one intrigued me the most. It's the largest globe puzzle I have seen (960 pieces). The pieces are curved, made of plastic and fit together nicely. We started with the countries (not using the #s) and then used the #s on the back to put the bodies of water together. It was a little challenging to put the last piece at the very top, but the finished product is very nice! It's so pretty I don't want to take it apart. I would like to give as gifts. Definitely take into account age, skill, and interest level of the person you're giving it to. A bit pricey but definitely recommend for puzzle lovers. It was very enjoyable and cute decoration!
