This is a lovely machine and makes good coffee. I like the separate water pitcher and mesh filter. But it does leak easily, even when I carefully check the placement of the filter. Doesn't happen every time, but enough to be annoying, especially considering the cost of the machine. Had hoped for better results because I REALLY wanted to like this.

My main reason for choosing this product was the removable water tank due to the layout of our kitchen. I was a little put off by the reviews that mentioned a leakage problem, but I went ahead and was glad I did. I have had no leakage problem, and I wonder how it could happen unless the carafe was not seated properly.

The coffee is very good. It is easy to use, and is a beautiful piece of kitchen equipment. If you are in the market for a coffee maker, I recommend this one.

There are lots of great reasons to buy this coffeemaker: size, style, quality of manufacture and of the coffee it brews, but I bought it and love it because as a left handed person I am tired of trying to fill coffee pots made only with right handed people in mind, and consequently having to mop up a puddle beside the pot! Even without removing the removable water chamber, this pot is easy to fill! I only wonder why it took me so long to find it!

We purchased the square stainless Cusinart -that everyone has- when it first came out, and it was a good coffee maker, but we cracked the carafe, and it was getting worn, so time to replace. Sooo glad we did! We love coffee, and this beautiful (yes truly - great design) coffee maker makes PERFECT coffee. Buy it, you'll love it.

This coffee maker makes delicious coffee and looks fabulous. I have received many compliments on its great appearance, and on the wonderful coffee it produces. The extra feature of having its own water filter enhances the taste of the coffee without the bother of filtering water first. It is easy to use and a great buy! I highly recommend it.

We bought this for style and features. Both of course are great and the performance is the BEST in any drip or filter coffeemaker that we have tried. Highly recommend purchasing it.

I am returning this coffee maker. For the price of it, it shouldn't leak, but it does. I wake up in the morning to coffee all over my counter or water leaking onto the burner when I haven't started my coffeepot yet.

The unit makes a good cup of coffee. If you use the metal filter you get sludge in the bottom of the carafe and with the filter I use, it likes to overtake the filter and spill onto the counter top. The coffee could be a little warmer on the hot plate. For the money I'm wouldn't purchase one again.

I bought this machine in April of '09 and it just quit in November of the same year. While it does make good coffee, it is prone to coffee granules lodging themselves in the carafe filler stop valve. This results in the coffee overflowing the filter and flooding the kitchen counter. This was remedied by the removal of the valve flap. Further, the fit between the carafe, hot plate and filler is so tight, that removal and replacement of the carafe is hard to do.
I would expect this item to last for several years for that sort of money. The machine I had before this was a Cuisinart, also poorly built, but did last all of 1.5 years, before it died.
Based on this experience, buy a cheap machine that will last as long.
