This review is from: Essays in Ethical Theory (Clarendon Paperbacks) (Paperback)
if you believe in the possibility of a revival this is a really good complementary book to the three classics (language of morals, reason and freedom and moral thinking) that Hare wrote. Particularly I prefer the treatment achieved in this collection than the one, although easiest, presented in sorting out of ethics. There are some really good articles and the defense of a conception of ethics enriched with a metaethical investigation sounds at the end as the motto of the book. A exception in quality is the chapter about Rawls. It is really inferior than the rest of the book and seems to me, most of the time, mainly a personal biased critic than a good reading of Rawls. His editorial ideas about theory of justice is a fun moment at the end of the chapter.
