No fabric case but killer item,

As a gardener, I use my fork instead of a shovel most times. Which is unfortunate because this is probably my nicest garden tool (all are from this line).
The other reviewer is absolutely right, there is no case (although I was wondering what I was going to do with a fabric bag...) and they are a bit misleading by calling it a shovel. It's a good size but it's still a spade. Personally I take no issue with this because if this thing was actually a shovel the handle would be gigantic (given the picture). It is what it looks like and works really well. I docked one star due to a fail on the satchel and and misleading term "shovel" not because the item is anything short of fantastic.

Slightly oversized trowel, not a shovel,

First, know that what you will receive is just the boxed "shovel", not the fabric case that is shown in the picture. I take issue with calling this a "shovel." It is less than one inch longer than my previous tool, a trowel, which I just broke in my rock hard soil, and it is also slightly less wide than my old one.
The measurements of this "shovel" are these: 1. Length is about 6 inches from the base to the tip; 2. The width is about 2 and 3/4 inches at the base; and 3. The width is about 2 and 1/4 inches towards the tip. These measurements do not a shovel make. At just a little over $5 with super saver shipping (if you purchase over $25 in qualifying items), this is probably worth it. It is marked stainless steel and has a nice wooden handle, and if I break it, I will revisit this review. |
