Guru Guru - 'Essen 1970' (Garden Of Delights), October 1, 2006
This review is from: Essen 1970 (Audio CD)
Pretty good quality never-before released archive live performance of the krautrock pioneers Guru Guru, from one of their earliest live concerts. You get three lengthy tracks here, two from the 'UFO' album and one off 'Hinten'.Track listing is as follows:"Stone In"(12:00),which is probably the CD's best overall cut,the way-out-there "Der LSD March"(14:22)and "Bo Diddley"(11:27).Like I said, the sound quality is good, well good ENOUGH anyway for a live concert recording.Sort of like a really good CD boot, maybe. The source is reportedly a soundboard tape.Original line-up is here,Mani Neumeier-drums&vocals,Ax Genrich-guitar and Uli Trepte-bass&vocals.The third CD in their Captain Trip(Japanese import)3-CD box set '30 Jahre Live' is better(see my review). As with most GoD releases, this disc comes with a super-nicely assembled 36-page booklet.Recommended,if you dig Guru Guru.
