Louis Armstrong was born in New Orleans in 1901. By the mid-20s he had moved to Chicago and was recording seminal jazz standards such as "Weatherbird", "Muggles" and "West… Read more in Amazon's Louis Armstrong Store

5.0 out of 5 stars You Won't Regret Swinging With This CD, December 18, 2003
Great sound and a whole lot of swing.
My favorites are Back o' Town Blues, where "Pops" interacts
with his sidemen - "I had a women (a sideman kicks in with - "so what, I had five of 'em) livin' way back of town," and Way Down Yonder in New Orleans. The latter swings in the great dixieland fashion of Satchmo's day, including a grand exchange of trumpet and trombone in the final lines. The All of Me and Red Red Robin tracks are also quite nice, with scatting and adlib to boot.
This CD will not let you down.
