This CD truely is the essence of Dave Brubeck. It contains great music. I only wish it was longer.

i bought THE ESSENCE OF...when i couldnt find TIME OUT, and it turns out that this cd is amazing! i was not a big jazz fan, but when i heard the song TAKE FIVE, i was really excited to hear more. a friend told me that DAVE BRUBECK plays in 5/4 time...whatever that means? but i could tell the difference between this and any other jazz i have heard. i recomend this cd. it is one of the only albums that i can listen till the end and then start all over again. and the recording quality is amazing! it sounds like it was recorded just a few weeks ago, and i find out that this stuff is from the 50's! wow! i cant wait to buy more DAVE BRUBECK! but i think everyone will appreciate this jazz legend! even if you arent a fan of jazz!LONG LIVE AMAZON.COM!
