I found this book to be an amazing, easy to understand guide to the tarot. Too many books on the tarot are jumbled and difficult to comprehend. Megan Skinner's book is a great tool for any level of practitioner interested in this ancient art. Personally, I've been looking for a good tarot book for over two years and this is the first book I've found that is clearly written, interesting to read yet technically accurate, balances modern and ancient knowledge, and formatted beautifully. In addition, a friend of mine had an in-person reading from Ms. Skinner and remarked that she is truly gifted with a high level of integrity. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in the tarot.

I love Megan's insight into the Ancient Tarot. The book is wonderful and packed with fabulous information. I love the modern spin of the "Divainations". Highly recommended read.

Megan Skinner's book was fabulous and fun to read. I enjoyed her insights into the modern interpretation and her client's experience of the tarot and its symbolism. I particularly enjoyed playing around with the astrology wheel spread using her interpretions to help me realize a multi-tiered esperience of both tarot and astrology. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the major arcana cards and their impact in our daily life.

Having seen Megan Skinner as a client I was thrilled to read her new book. Megan's insight into the Tarot is truly unique and uplifting. Her writing expands the usual explanation of the Tarot leaving the reader with more insight.

I have tried to read several books regarding Psychics and the Tarot. While they have good information, I have found them difficult to read and quite boring. Ms. Skinner's book, however, was far from boring. The insight, history, and narrative text made it easy to read, comprehend, and enjoy. Since I've never seen anything by her before, I assume she is a first-time writer and must give her credit for a job well-done. I highly recommend this enjoyable read.

Megan's illustration of Tarot reading is refreshing, and allows readers to really understand the major cards as they apply to life rather than just providing textbook terms and hoping readers can muddle their way through to the end.

I found this book to be very interesting and quite good. Megan Skinner really goes in-depth about the Tarot, and some of the history was truly fascinating. I also enjoyed the modern reflections, and the diagrams. I am a very picky reader, and usually don't read books like this, but when a friend recommended Essence of the Tarot: Modern Reflections on Ancient Wisdom, I picked it up and read it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the Tarot and all of the widsom behind it.

"Essence of the Tarot" by Megan Skinner is well written and easy to follow. The material is presented in a way that is both logically and intuitively appealing. It explains the history of the tarot, card layouts, and offers an in-depth look at the major arcana. The author offers her insight, wisdom, and personal examples in her explanation of each card. The personal examples help the reader gain greater understand of different ways the cards may affect the readings.

I have read several books on the tarot, however; "Essence of the Tarot" is by far the most enjoyable one I have read.

The author has a degree in communication with a background in advertising, which contribute the readability of this book. "Essence of the Tarot" is written to benefit the beginner, and advanced card reader alike.

this book is extremely detailed in its approach to the tarot. its depth into the major arcana is enlightening at the very worst. the book offers a more traditional, almost textbook-ish interpretation of the cards first and then a more modern and practical perspective later on. the only thing that is regretable is its lack of minor arcana explanations which would probably be the only thing that would keep me from saying that this book could be considered an authority on the tarot. in spite of this fact however i do not feel it to be a mistake to say that one would only benefit from this authors insight.

Megan Skinner blends ancient wisdoms, practical descriptions, and contemporary examples to reveal insights and divination tools for the cards.The book unravels a world of profound mysteries as it draws the reader through its pages. The quotes and poems that introduce the chapters based on the major arcana cards set the stage for the tenor of the card, and offer intriguing meditations throughout the book. This is a graceful book that fuses the practical with the archetypal paths weaving through the universe.
