Along with The Definitive Collection, The Essential Alan Parsons Project gives the casual fan the proper mixture and proportion of radio hits, Alan Parsons' signature instrumentals, and Eric Woolfsons' thought-provoking ballads. Best of all, SONY/BMG has included the once lost gemstone No Answers Only Questions (Final Version) that Eric Woolfson composed and guitarist Ian Bairnson arranged. Everything has been digitally remastered from the best available source tapes. The end result is a product that sounds very good on a moderately priced home system and stunning on audiophile-quality speakers and equipment. If the casual fan sought advice as to where to begin enjoying The Alan Parsons Project, I would whole-heartedly recommend this collection.

This 3 CD import collection is the one to buy vs. the 2 CD version mostly available in the USA. Though this collection does not contain all of the best based on personal tastes but does a heck of a job. I burned 2 additional CD's from the remastered core of 10 plus the subsequent AP releases and now I have a 5 CD collection that safisfies my AP fix. The quality of the remasters is outstanding. The care taken at the time of the initial recordings can now be appreciated. So sit back and enjoy.

Essential Alan Parsons Project is just that, ESSENTIAL. It has all the best stuff. And not just the big hits. (Not that there were that many big hits. After all, the world at large doesn't have the best taste in music and can't appreciate all the good music Alan Parsons did.)

Great sound quality and all at a good price. Highly recommend this set.
