This does not work as you think it is going to. It cahrges the unit well but you can't use it or watch anything while it is charging.

These are great for portable charging on the go. Either in the car or hotel room...well worth the purchase!

The car charger works great! I have not spent a lot of time using the wall charger because I also have the dvr dock. But even with that the first time fully charging the Archos 605 took over 14 hours. A must have for travel.

The idea of tip exchange is pretty ingenious, but unfortunately the concept that makes this product so appealing is also its biggest engineering flaw. The exchangeable tip introduces a point-of-failure to an otherwise solid product. I have used mine for my Archos in my car for less than a month when the car charger ceased to charge my product. When I looked into why, I noticed the tip had become loose and moved around with only the slightest pressure from my thumb. I took the tip inside to try it on the wall charger, which also did not work. When I jiggled the tip around to try and re-seat the connection, the tip began to smoke. This tip is now in the trash. This may not be a typical experience, but beware the poor design of this product.

I love my Archos 605 WiFi, but I'm not very happy with the way Archos limits their software and accessories for the 5 series. If they even offer a power accessory like this one, it's hard to find and usually quite a bit more expensive than what I paid for this kit. The kit works very well, and the tip exchange options help keep costs down. Nice job Gomadic!

This is a hard to find charger. Gomadic is the only company that offers a charging solution without using the cradle. The quality of this product is excelent. Notice Gomadic even offers a lifetime warranty, if your looking for a charger than your search is over!

I got the correct tip and used fresh new batteries and after charging over12 hours, my archos was still at the 1 red bar. Gomadic then gave a lame explanation as to why it wouldn't work. Save time and money and don't order.
