I am teaching myself Articulate Studio 09. I am a trainer and want to use it for my online training materials. The tutorials offered by the Articulate folks online are not very helpful so I needed more. I love this book. It is written by educators who know how to write to instruct. The first couple of chapters discuss curriculum development and design and give great information for those who are not familiar with some of the basic concepts of it. They also provide a good review for those of us who have some knowledge of it. Their tips are excellent as well.

This book is easy to understand and I enjoy how the authors give reasons why you should do certain things as you're learning the applications rather than just rote, step-by-step training (but they do give good step by steps too).

It's a great book, well written and the authors do a thorough and enjoyable job of explaining the how to's.

Got this book based on recommendation from fellow workers. I am not sorry I got it. This is the instruction manual that should have come with the product. Well written by people who have been in the e-learning industry and know what e-learning is all about. Not just a book about using Articulate but a book about developing skills. If you have Articulate Studio 09, you should consider getting this

I normally cringe when presented with any circa 1000 page guide to the latest and greatest software, however in using this book over a period of a month to evaluate the articulate software/presentation suite for developing computer based course material, I was agreeably surprised.
It is well written and individual sections have sufficient autonomy for you to just dip in, based on the excellent index, and work from there. If you are serious about giving this suite of programs a go, download the free 30 day trial and buy this book. It is clear and cogently written and it will be money well spent.

For anyone planning to use Articulate, this book is indispensible. It takes you through the entire process of not only using the software but how to set up best practices for using the software effectively.
Instructions are clear, well written and to the point. The book is organized well and touches on every aspect of the software.

The book has three main sections, one each on Presenter, Quizmaker and Engage. Then there are a couple of chapters on other topics such as publishing your project and using Video Encoder. A companion CD-ROM that comes with the book includes a 30 day trial version of Articulate Studio '09, an excerpt from The Insider's Guide to Becoming a Rapid E-Learning Pro, links to various articles on the Articulate Studio web site, and Articulate documentation files.

As opposed to a lot of books on software, this book is particularly good on first explaining the overall view of what you are trying to do rather than assuming that you know all that and jumping directly into the programming. I wish a lot more books used this kind of approach.

I waited impatiently for this book to arrive as there is really no other book on Articulate! I'd been struggling along, but never found enough information-UNTIL THIS CAME ALONG. It covers in great detail Presenter, Quizmaker, Engage, and Video, the entire suite. It also lays out the information using instructional design ADDIE as the model. So, its not just a how to use this software, it's how to use this software to create e-learning that works. It also contains so many tips, little funnies, references, that I just like to read it for fun. I guarantee you'll learn something no matter how 'Articulate' you are. Pun intended. Much thanks to the authors for this comprehensive work (of art).

Book met my expectations. Turnaound time was beyond expectations. purchased book for an overview on the software. This book met my requirements.

I purchased this book because I have heard Pati Schank speak and needed learn the application qiuckly for a project. The book was a disappointment. It reads like it was written by a technical writer who tells you the buttons to push but does not go into how to really use the functionality. Quite a bit of instrutional design tips were added which do me no good, since I am an instructional designer and do not need them. The dvd included with the book does NOT contain any practice files like other similar books would have just a trial copy of the program. Iconlogic comes to mind as a xcompany does does a terrific job. They do a fantastic job of teaching you Captivate fucntionality. i was looking for a similar workbook-type resource. I am stuck now with a resource called "Essential Articulate Studio" which is really does me very little good. If you are looking for a resource from which you can quickly learn, I would NOTrecommend this one, but havde not found any resource on the market.
