Very happy to have this CD....
I was a big fan of this band in the early 80s... i have the first album (like gangbusters) on tape, i have keept all these years, cuz it was an excellent tape... i loved it... 2 years ago i found this CD! It is nice to see this music on CD... good stuff...

Just Got Lucky...and not much else
I love the JoBoxers just as much as the next guy, but let's be honest - after shelling out $$ for a pricy import, the only really memorable songs are the singles we already know and love: JUST GOT LUCKY and BOXERBEAT. SHE'S GOT SEX and a few others are OK in an early 80s quaint sorta way, but the band never really scaled the sublime retro-flashback heights of those first...

I love the JoBoxers just as much as the next guy, but let's be honest - after shelling out $$ for a pricy import, the only really memorable songs are the singles we already know and love: JUST GOT LUCKY and BOXERBEAT. SHE'S GOT SEX and a few others are OK in an early 80s quaint sorta way, but the band never really scaled the sublime retro-flashback heights of those first two giddy, spirited, soulful singles. Still, nice to have it all under one package on CD.

There is a reason the second recording was never released,

While the music that we know from the first album is a 5 star record for that moment in time, the unreleased songs at the end of the CD which were to have been on the follow-up album are just awful. It's amazing how a band can be so good for one album and show so little on the next.

JoBoxers were my all time favorite group of the 80's. Just try out this record and you will see. The JoBoxers are the greatest.

if you like SKA ok cool 80's music. the joboxers have a good sound. kind of like stray cats and madness with a twist of the village people. just buy it. it is worth every penny
