Limited procedures,
By
This review is from: Essential Clinical Procedures, 2e (Dehn, Essential Clinical Procedures) (Paperback)
This book covers very few procedures and some chapters are not even on procedures. For it's price point, this book does not address many things that a mid-level needs to understand and possibly perform. For my money, I would highly recommend the Mosby book; Procedures for the Primary Care Physician. This book is used commonly by FPs and was not written by the PA community (many who are faculty around the nation) like the Dehn book is.

I was required to buy this book during Physician Assistant/medical school. It is an excellent book for a medical student with no prior hospital experience. However, even though I had just been a tech and emergency medicine transcriber a year before school I had seen most of the procedures multiple times and only reviewed one or two sections. I recommend it for it being concise and illustrated but a nurse or tech in medical school may not need to glance over this book or a section once just to review important points before a skills exam. Amazon delivered promptly and in great condition; I love that it was free shipping!

Very straightforward and easy to follow instructions for procedures. I will be keeping this one as a reference to brush up on procedures I haven't' done in a while.

Highly recommended. This should be part of every PA student's library. I reference it often during clinical rotations.

I am very pleased with this terrific reference tool!
And I am also very pleased with the quickness of Amazon's Free Standard delivery service. I ordered other books on the same day through Amazon but that were sold via different companies....several days after receiving this book, I am still awaiting the other books from the other company's standard delivery service that I paid for. (Very Slow) And when I track my packages, they say they are still in transit on the other end of the continent from me! They must be fastened to the backs of snails.... |
