5.0 out of 5 stars A Treasure!
If you have any of his "Best of" CDs, this Bobby Vee package will round out your collection, and it includes some real treasure finds that you may not have heard before, such as his renditions of Mr. Blue, All You Got to Do is Touch Me, and Well...All Right. It also includs Never Love a Robin and A Letter from Betty, which I personally enjoy and are not found...

3.0 out of 5 stars Just the Hits, Ma'am
This package of hits and non-hits would have been better served if it included more of Vee's work with the Crickets. Who wants to hear endless tunes that cannot evoke one memory? He is not, was not, such a great singer that you just want to hear him sing on and on, no matter what the song. And where is "Stayin In"? Bah! Humbug!

If you have any of his "Best of" CDs, this Bobby Vee package will round out your collection, and it includes some real treasure finds that you may not have heard before, such as his renditions of Mr. Blue, All You Got to Do is Touch Me, and Well...All Right. It also includs Never Love a Robin and A Letter from Betty, which I personally enjoy and are not found on other hits compilations. If you listen to both disks, there are admittedly more than one or two tracks that are pretty average, but listenable. However, on balance, you are struck by the talent and versatility of a man that had a reasonably long and successful career. He was not just a Buddy Holly sound alike who hung on for a few years. And, he is a good guy. Like a lot of stuff from the early to late sixties, this is great fun. So, enjoy!

EXCELLENT CD WITH SOME UNISSUED SONGS WRITTEN BY THE SONG TEAM OF CAROLE KING AND GERRY GOFFIN WHO WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR WRITING MANY OF BOBBY'S BIGGEST HITS IN THE EARLY SIXTIES.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellant quality complete with booklet by Bobby Vee.l, March 6, 1999

The remastering of these old songs from his first record, Susie Baby to the final cut is great. Bobby took a direct hand in picking the songs and putting together the booklet and personal photos. A great addition to his collection of numerous CDs and LPs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Collection, October 3, 2006
This review is from: Essential & Collectable (Audio CD)
I think this collection is pure Bobby Vee. Although I'm not familiar with all of the recordings, I like 95% of the new ones. It evoked a lot of memories.
