Absolutely Essential
This is a great collection of recipes that are easy to follow for anyone who is an expert or novice on Goan cooking. Menezes also makes this a wonderful reference guide, with anecdotes throughout the book on Goan life and culture.

Not impressive
This book has plenty of variety including some unusual goan recipes which remind my of my grandmothers cooking but the recipes aren't entirely fool proof - especially not for the novice cook. I've had to make a few adjustments to the ingredients to make them the dishes taste authentic.

If you like to eat and enjoy cooking... you will enjoy this book. Compiled of recipes from my father's youth... a compilation of Portuguese and Indian cooking... Yummieeeeeeeeeee!!
