This review is from: Essential Endocrinology (Paperback)
This book assumes that the reader knows a lot of physiology and molecular biology. I havent taken those courses in years so I found myself referring back to my old undergraduate textbooks quite frequently. It is a brief overview guide, being only 180 pages, It leaves out a lot of important information reguarding each hormone. It's no textbook.4 stars because the book lacks essential tables and graphs that outline the major functions and effects of each hormone. A synopsis would be nice every now and then, especially considering this IS a synopsis manual to endocrinology. A great beginners guide and a fantastic quick reference tool for professionals. |
