More About the Author

Ernest Shurtleff Holmes (1887-1960) was an avid student of the world's spiritual systems. He found in these a common denominator he called the Science Mind, a practical philosophy for abundant living. Beginning as self-educated lecturer, Holmes developed a large following of students and went on to formalize his work by founding Science of Mind magazine, an educational institute, and the United Church Religious Science. His writings have inspired the work of countless clergy, business leaders, physicians, and psychologists and have helped to shape the guiding principles of the modern human potential movement, both spiritual and secular. Born and raised in Maine, Holmes spent much of his adult life in California.

This book contains the key writings by Ernest Holmes. SOme are taken from his speech. It contains examples of how he uses the Law of Life and Love to heal others.
This is a great book to learn about the author's beliefs, as the way to adopt his attitude and faith. He talks about the relationship of man and nature, of man and life, and law. Each chapter ends with some affirmations. Excellent work. I started reading it and i couldn't stop.

We have been students of Religious Science for over 10 years and read much of Ernest Holmes' work. This book is fantastic. It is easy to read and humorous as well as insightful and helpful. I recommend it to anyone interested in Religous Science, New Thought, positive thinking, or changing your life.

Ernest Holmes was a very prolific writer. How Jesse Jennings was able to "capture" the best of Holmes is beyond me, but the results are fabulous! This is an incredible book for people who are just beginning to get into Religious Science as well as for those who have been in it for the long haul.

Ernest Holmes was able to convey powerful Truths into liveable methods. To me, that's the beautiful thing about Religious Science, we attempt to live out our Spirituality...we attempt to make God "real" not as a vauge concept or a lofty ideal but as something that can be experienced and felt.

The Divine Presence is always around us as well as all within us and it takes practice to begin to feel that Source of all perfection, but a mind that is alligned with God can bring forth all sorts of good...not because this philosophy is magical, but because we are attuned to what is ALREADY present. Isn't that a wonderful thing to know that that which we desire also desires us to express it?

I would like very much to start a study group based on this book because like all books that point to a Higher Awareness of Life, they seem to bring forth new insights, new understandings, new ways that we can apply to our everyday experience and I always love to hear how people are transforming their lives through affirmative prayer, through a consciousness that God is present, through a knowing that it truly is Love that makes all things possible.

So buy this book, buy two...one for you and one for a friend and start your own study group and allow these words of wisdom ripple out touching and healing everyone and everything in its wake.
