This probiotic goes beyond the common lactobacillus acidophilus-12 strains of probiotics. It actually restores the normal flora due to the type, amount and the base its in. Most are grown in cheap media--and processed quickly to market; these are from organic vegetables fermented for 5 years, so are more absorbable. AFter being on antibiotics long term, they quickly restored my normal digestion, got rid of bloating, IBS, and gastric reflux suffered.

Its expensive-but worth it!

I have taken these for the last month and I have seen good results. There has been a decrease in bloating and gas, my skin looks better and even my dreaded "backne" is beginning to subside. My scalp no longer itches and my yeast infections have decreased as well. I am very happy with this and will continue to take it, gladly. Excellent product, I am looking forward to seeing what other conditions it helps!

My family has been using Dr. Ohhira's Probiotic for 2 years now with great results. Our 16 year old son had antibiotic induced diarrhea from taking numerous rounds of antibiotics for reoccuring upper respiratory infections. This eliminated the diarrhea completely and helped to repair the damage that was done. If you have digestive problems due to the overuse of antibiotics or have been diagnosed with candida this product is wonderful and is the only probiotic we have used that had an immediate effect. It is designed to survive the stomach acid and reach the lower colon. Hope this helps.

I have had diarrhea for 1yr...i tried every popular and expensive probiotics out there without any relief. for last 5months I was on PeptoBismol as that was the only thing working to stop bloating, gas, diarrhea, etc. I tried this probiotics and it worked magically. within few days I stopped taking PeptoBismol. I started with taking 2 tablets, morning and evening and now I only take one tablet every morning. Soon, I will try stopping that as well. Really great probiotics and great results.

As a twelve year sufferer of IBS and Diverticulitis, and years of ineffective treatments, I finally came across Dr Ohira's probiotics. This one works! After changing diet to a vegan lifesstyle and taking this twice daily all signs of previous illness disappeared. It has been many years since I began the twice daily dosage and at 60 probably have the healthiest colon on the block. Many who I have recomeded this protocol too have cleared chrons and colitis and there side effects. This product is one of the best I have ever used.

I've found that nothing compares to this probiotic. I've used foods like organic plain yogurt, acidophilus milk, OTC and RX probiotics, pepto, anti-diarrheals and prescriptions like Prevacid for years. The first consistent result (IBS disappeared, skin looked better, energy better) was the result of this product. I've also just started (3 weeks) the soap by Dr O, and found it delivers on reducing body odor - a big issue for a 40's something woman going through hormonal flux. I wish it was less expensive so I could use it all the time. If I eat poorly (too much sugar, etc) and have stress, I use it and it helps. I've recommended to friends with bowel issues. There's alot to say about how antibiotics and a high (simple) carb diet have caused health issues in the past fifty years, and I won't pretend to know it all, but I believe this mix of magic by Dr O is a partial antidote to the situation.

I had been suffering from acute GERD for the better part of a year before I discovered Dr. Ohiras. Finally, I decided to change my eating habits, but only by taking these probiotics and fish oil every day, and not eating after 8pm. After taking Dr. Ohiras for 3 months, my symptoms disappeared by about 95%. Recently, I ran out of the pills before buying another pack. Since they are almost 50% cheaper on Amazon.com than at Whole Foods or other retail outlets, I was without them for about 8 days while they shipped. My symptoms returned, though not as badly, after about 4 days. Once the new pack came and I was taking the pills again for a couple of days, the symptoms went away again. I cannot thank this company or give props to their product enough.

I began taking Ohhira probiotics after a stool test revealed that I had a sterile colon, i.e. no bacteria at all. I began taking 3 capsules twice daily on an empty stomach and eventually worked down to 1 capsule twice daily as per the instructions. After taking the product faithfully for six months, I had another stool test. Much to my dismay, there is ZERO growth of the bacteria listed on the Ohhira label. There are e.coli and clostridium and some bacteriodes fragilis, but ZERO lactobaccilus and bifiobacterium. I have spent hundreds of dollars on this product to no avail. I am very disappointed and am wondering if I can get my money refunded. I purchased some Renew Life Ultimate Flora 50 billion last week along with a quart of un-homogenized milk, came home and made yogurt with both the Renew Life and the Ohhira: heated and cooled the milk to 110F; sterilized two containers; added the probiotics; put them in a warm place and went to sleep. The next morning, the Renew Life product had made some beautiful (and delicious) yogurt. Ohirra had done nothing. Three days later the Ohirra had made a slimy yogurt. I do not recommend this product. I'll have another stool test after six months of using Renew Life and will then post a follow-up review.

this is a very good probiotic, and the greener the better! It is filled with the best of the best in minerals and a trace of vitamins. It regulates your bowl movements and gives a overall sense of digesting your foods to better equip your body with the nutrition your body needs.

It was recommended that my husband take a probiotic following an aggressive antibiotic treatment. There are so many brands and bacteria strains to choose from. I read about Dr. Ohhira's on a Crohn's Disease website, so it sounded like a legitimate product. It helped my husband avoid antibiotic-induced diarrhea. And because it seemed like a healthy supplement to continue with, we both started taking it at just 1 capsule every other day. We've been using this for almost a year. A pleasant side-effect for me: Since I've been taking Dr. Ohhira's, I have not had any flare up of IBS!
