WORKS JUST FINE
I bought a new GPS and wasn't sure that I would need these chargers or not. As it turned out the GPS did come with everything that was needed to charge it, but it's nice to have back up I guess. For someone that is in need of a new charger because they've either lost or broken the original one, these are very good chargers.

Essential Kit for Garmin
The chargers work great and the tipexchange worked great. My only complaint is that this cord is not as long as my original and when you put the Garmin on your windshield, the cord is stretched very tight between the windshield and cigarette lighter and it occasionally pulls the Garmin off the windshield due to so much pressure.

Very Easy on & off usage...!!! Much quicker than Garmin AC Adapters & Plug in Vehicle Adapters. Merely Pull, Click, & it is stored out of sight for would-be thefts...Ingenious Idea...!!! Am sure there are Hundreds of Garmin StreetPilot C550 & C580 Users, who do not know about these inventive ADAPTERS...Like the Little Boy in the Advertisement says, { TRY IT YOU'll LIKE IT...!!!}

I purchased this same item a couple of years ago and was disappointed by the short cord on the car charger - could barely reach from the charger to the dash. This new version has a much longer cord...YAY. Finally I can stop worrying that I'll go around a corner too fast and unplug the charger!!! And it's also great to have a wall charger to fully charge the devise. The car charger doesn't charge well if you're using the devise at the same time. Just used this in a rental car for a trip from SF to LA...got it just in the nick of time.
