Essential material for the EFL ESL student,
By Simon Magus (Japan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Essential Grammar in Use Supplementary Exercises With key (Paperback)
I am a EFL teacher, and everyone of my serious and dedicated students have either this book or English Grammar in Use (Murphy's other creation).
The explanations are, for the most part, easy to understand and he supplies diagrams where appropriate. The grammar and vocabulary are of the U.K. variety but I haven't found it major problem. To the Teacher: If you are looking for supplemental material to give to your students as homework or as in class short pattern oral drills, then this book is definitely for you. To the student: Confused about how to use "A and THE"? Why is "The movie is bored" wrong? Ok It's true... English grammar is difficult but it's also important. This book explains English grammar very well. If you are a serious student, please ask you teacher if this book will help your progress. |
