By A Customer
As an airline recruiter/interviewer for a major airline I have seen and heard about "The Essential Guide To Becoming A Flight Attendant" for for some time now. I checked it out personally recently and it is right on target. Anyone who reads and follows the information in this guide should have no problem being hired as an airline flight attendant. The questions Ms. Ward reveals in the guide are the exact ones I ask each day while interviewing flight attendant applicants and the tips on interview etiquette are right on. I wish all applicants were as prepared as those who have read this incredible book must be. Kudos for a professional job by a flight attendant professional!

5.0 out of 5 stars I GOT THE JOB!, January 3, 2007
By
I ordered this book just two weeks before my interview. The book arrived in two days and I read it. I read it again, and again. I studied the questions, practiced my answers, dressed how I was supposed to dress, walked how I was supposed to walk. This book worked, and I was offered a job as a flight attendant with a major airline on the spot. I start training next month and cannot wait. This book is what you need to have the upper edge over the other applicants- I was skeptical- but after being hired to the most sought after position in the aviation industry- I am a believer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Prospective flight attendants need this book!, June 18, 2000
This review is from: The Essential Guide To Becoming A Flight Attendant (Paperback)
As someone who is just starting the rather grueling process of trying to become a flight attendant, I can attest to the accuracy and helpfulness of Ms. Ward's manual. Her wealth of experience comes shining through, page after page. After attending two interviews for major airlines, I found that all of what I had learned from The Essential Guide to Becoming a Flight Attendant was, indeed, essential! It helped me immeasurably - in fact, I was invited to a second interview with both carriers! Anyone serious about becoming a flight attendant in today's competitive market will appreciate Ms. Ward's insights--especially her sample (and very accurate) interview questions and tips on what to expect and how to plan for your interview. Ms. Ward is also available for follow-up advice by e-mail and she has been unfailingly helpful throughout my own interview process. I highly recommend the manual to anyone else in my position.

5.0 out of 5 stars Michele's Review, June 17, 2000
By
Michele Dickman (Florence, Ky. U.S.A.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Essential Guide To Becoming A Flight Attendant (Paperback)
Ms. Ward goes into colorful detail and unveils the mysteries and myths of the position of the professional flight attendant. To the general public and novice individuals, a flight attendant position seems to be the "golden job"; in many ways it is. However, many do not realize the rigor of getting the position in the first place, what training is really all about, and the lifestyle you can expect once you become qualified to fly. The Essential Guide To Becoming A Flight Attendant is truly a must have for anyone who is curious or intends to pursue this as a career field. As a current flight attendant for a regional carrier, I thought that I had the experience from previous successful interviews with my current employer. However, this book caught my eye, and I am happy to have ordered it. It gave specific details that really helped my presentation in my second interview. Since the interview process for flight attendants is so different from every other job in the current job market, how you present yourself is very crucial. With this book, you can confidently walk in to any open house or one on one interview with a feeling of being very well prepared.....because you will be! I am happy to disclose that I have accepted a position with American Airlines, and have seen other successful testimonials as a result of the book's help as well. I also found Kiki Ward to be extremely supportive personally. She truly is interested in her book's impact on her clientele's success. You won't find that with many other authours!

5.0 out of 5 stars This guide is ESSENTIAL to becoming a flight attendant!, January 24, 2002
By
This review is from: The Essential Guide To Becoming A Flight Attendant (Paperback)
I gave the guide to myself for Christmas last year and set my mind to being hired at an airline in 2002. I am so glad I bought the guide and educated myself before I ever applied. I was so prepared at my interview session and it was obvious that others were not. There was a not a question asked that wasn't in this book. The funniest thing is that my interviewer caught a glimpse of the book in my bag and recognized it right away. She praised me for preparing for the interview and guess what.... I start flight attendant training next month! This guide was exactly what I needed to completely inform myself about the flight attendant life, totally prepare for my interviews and finally get the job of my dreams!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book orked for me!, November 18, 2006
This book worked for me! After reading Kiki's book, I was prepared for interviewing with the airlines. I knew how to present myself, what to wear, what to have with me, and how to conduct myself in both one-on-one interviews as well as group sessions. After meeting with 4 different airlines, I was offered training with 2 of them. I highly recommend this book to anyone who dreams of being a Flight Attendant. It not only explains the profession, it prepares you to be your best when you meet with the airlines. My childhood dream is coming true!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you Kiki Ward!!, November 27, 2005

(REAL NAME)
I had less than 5 days to prepare for my interview with one of the major U.S. airlines. This was going to be my first interview with the first airline I applied for. I was so nervous, I couldn't sleep for days!! I ordered Kiki's book, along with Tim Kirkwood's Flight Attendant Job Finder & Career Guide and had it rush delivered to my house... and Thank God I did!!! It gave me all the information I needed for the interview, gave me knowledge of the industry and the nature of the profession, and gave me life-saving tips on how to shine at the interview, as well as what the recruiters were looking for. On the day of the interview, I even felt like I had a competitive edge over the other candidates who were less prepared. I was very satisfied with the results!! Needless to say... I got through the first interview, second interview, and was hired immediately after finishing the panel interview!! Thanks to Kiki I will be going to Flight Attendant Training in a month, and I'm so excited and look forward to making my lifelong dream come true, which I know will change my life forever. I owe many thanks to Kiki for writing this book!! And if you're considering a career as a Flight Attendant... PLEASE get this book and be as prepared as possible before your interview. It will be worth every minute of your time, and every penny you put into it. Good luck to all!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars IF YOU REALLY WANT TO BE A FLIGHT ATTENDANT_BUY IT !!!!, November 17, 2005
Hi, my name is Annya and I have recently got my dream job in one of major airlines. It has been my first attempt ever and I can consciously state that I would not even get through the first interview without the information I have read and learnt.
This book is amazing and teaches you everything you need to know and if you really want to get a job as a flight attendant and prepare well and go for your interview and shine, don't hesitate, buy it and you'll never regret your purchase.
Don't count on your amazing personality, which of course is your great attribute, prepare yourself, because you will be asked questions, you would never thought you might have been ever asked and you simply won't have time to think about them too much during the interview. I found 99% of all answers in Kiki Ward's book and my personality only added to my success!
Good luck to you too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for preparation!, August 16, 2005

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book is definitely worth the price. It prepares you for that scary group interview and even beyond that, shedding some light on what goes on during training and whatnot if you get hired for the job. Some say that it gives some common sense answers to being prepared, but it never hurts to go over some common sense every now and then. If anything, skim this book to get an idea of what you're going up against.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "Guide" to becoming Someone Special in the Air, June 26, 2000
By
This review is from: The Essential Guide To Becoming A Flight Attendant (Paperback)
Ms. Ward totally prepared me for the process! I was excepted to training with American Airlines. The "Guide" is a must for anyone seeking a career as a flight attendant. Ms. Ward has taken the time to explain every detail from the initial application to relocating to a new base. The "Guide" is concise and easy to read. Kiki is a professional through and through and I couldn't have been as successful without her help. I was honored when she accepted the invitation to pin my wings at my graduation ceremonies. Her love of aviation and her dedication in seeing her clients succeed truly makes her Someone Special in the Air.
