This book was very well written and researched. It has all the information that we need to know today. She has great shopping tips like planning before you go and eating more plant-based meals. I also loved the one about getting skinnier calcium choices. I made this one: "Choose plain yogurt and add your own fruit, a swirl of honey or agave nectar." It was delicious with the honey. It is nice to get the scientific facts for what we need to eat instead of marketing hype or fad diet books. Great read!

I just love this book. There is truly something for everyone. Whether you need to take control of your health to prevent disease, want to learn more about specific foods such as cruciferous vegetables or whole grains such as amaranth, or want to become a more mindful eater, this covers it all. The information provided is very well researched, but written in an easy to understand language that is appropriate for everyone. It is really a fantastic resource for everyone from the nutrition professional to the busy mom. I know I will be referencing this book over and over again. I highly recommend it!

I am in culinary school and have completed a nutrition class that had a state exam
and I can tell you this book is right up there with the textbook we used and has so much
more. I think it really is all you need to know about nutrition and a handy pocket guide.
