I found this book to be very pedestrian. It gave only basic information regarding business use of e-commerce and the technical details of implementing e-commerce. I was also distressed by the lack of concern for security on e-commerce sites given the many breaches that have occurred.

A good book for a person wanted to getting familiar with online retail / marketing. It provides some nice resources. The book is very focused on email marketing, however some of the material is out of date. This is especially true concerning SPAM laws. Be careful on that.
Otherwise, a very good introduction to ecommerce for someone starting a business. |
