Much has been written about Jimi Hendrix, so I'll keep this short.

This reasonably-priced 2 cd set is the perfect place to start a Hendrix collection. Material from several albums is contained here, with a bit of an emphasis on "Are You Experienced?" and "Electric Ladyland". This is also a great album to have if you only want one Hendrix cd.

Once you've digested this, move on to the individual albums.

this two disc set is hard to find since it's out of print but this is a great collection of Jimi and has more that the radio hits.the first disc is mostly well known hits like Purple Haze,Hey Joe etc and some well known album tracks from Are You Experienced to Electric Ladyland.i really love the second disc which is mostly later day songs released after jimi's death that appeared on Cry Of Love Crash Landing and some new albums in the 1990's like Voodoo Soup,First Rays Of The Rising Sun etc.songs like the ballad Drifting,Ezy Rider Dolly Dagger and Room Full Of Mirrors are as good as anything Jimi released in his life time.I highly recommended this collection since it has most of the great hits and album tracks of Jimi and The Experience if someone wants to get into Jimi's music for the first time this is a great way to get variety without having to buy all the albums and box sets .i give this album 5 stars.

I have so many of Hendrix CD's but this one is my favorite and rare. My brother mentioned this cd was at a Beer Pub in Texas and this actually has the only studio version of the song "Gloria". it was the only reason I bought this. Thank You Amazon, it's the only place where this cd was available.
