The Essential Journey is a great collection but the limited edition 3.0 reissue that came out a year ago completely blows it out of the water. This version of The Essential Journey contains a third bonus disk that has 3 selections from the Escape live album as well as the Popular Departure classic "Walks Like a Lady", The Infinity classic "Feeling That Way", which should have been on the first release, Trial By Fire's "When I Think of You, "Suzanne" from Raised on Radio, and a track I never heard of, "I Can See it in Your Eyes". The first disc of Essential is pretty much Greatest Hits minus "Be Good To Yourself" which is on Disc 2. Disc 2 has "Be Good To Yourself" as well as other great songs like "Anytime", "Escape", "Line of Fire", and, "Stone in Love". There's a few things missing from this compilation like "Stay Awhile" and "Only Solutions". Tracks from Escape and Back are all remastered beautifully but if you own the Frontiers, Raised on Radio, and Trial by Fire Reissues, you really won't hear much of a difference and trust me, I listened to them back to back. I really like the live versions of "Don't Stop Believin'", "Stone in Love", and "Mother, Father" from Live in Houston but I would've been more excited to see Stay Awhile, Rubicon, Only Solutions, and Once You Love Somebody. Other than that, Essential 3.0 is a pretty good Album, although I feel Time3 was a bit better and it had pre-Perry Journey tracks. However this has Trial by Fire material so either way its a preference thing. I recommend it to people who are getting into Journey and die-hard fans.

If you are Journey fan, look no further for a collection that can't be beat. This collection has all of your favorites...hit after hit. You can't beat it! Great price, great value.

Even though i already have most or all of these songs. This CD is awesome. Great music great, great songs just a really great cd all the way around.

Anyone know if the 3rd disc was remastered like the first 2 or was the 3rd just put together for some quick money ?

I love this CD. Steve Perry is the greatest singer of all time!!! I have thoroughly enjoyed this walk down memory lane!!!

Just because you,like I, own all CDs Journey/Steve Perry, do not miss out on this jem. Who ever picked out the best of the best knew what would please a Journey fan. Three discs, from soft soulful to croud pleasing rock this group of songs can make everyone happy. Disc two, I fear will wear out, from Chain Reaction to The Party's Over I can not hear it enough times. When Baby I'm A Leavin' You comes on stop and enjoy Steve Perrys velvet gravel voice. The songs with Greg Rolie are wonderful, the sounds take you back to a bitter sweet time. Not to be missed.

Cuando compre este cd tenia mis dudas porque ya poseia "Journey Greatest Hits" y "Greatest Hits Live" sim embargo no me equivoque en nada el disco es buenisimo y recopila de excelente manera lo mejor de Journey.

This and the time 3 albums are worth every penny. Are they still albums? Very, very good listen!

The disk 1 still cannot be performed on my CD-ROM of my laptop, but I don't want to send it back again. Thank you for your service.
