Nice, small selection of popular 80's hits. Collection seems a little short with only 6 videos.Titles included in this set are: "Take on Me" a-ha (1985)

Buy a DVD of videos from the 80s? What? Am I nuts? Sure, I taped huge numbers of the videos years ago, but this is DVD, right?
Right. I'll confess that the main reason I bought this DVD is for a-ha's "Take on Me" video. It won top honors in its year of release as video of the year. Time has been kind to it. The video and the music hold up well. The B-52's "Love Shack" holds up well too. If you'll look, you'll see a pre-Superstar Ru Paul dancing in the video (Ru and the 52's are from the Atlanta/Athens, GA area). Devo's "Whip it" is still one of the oddest and guiltiest pleasures to come around. The Georgia Satellites' "Keep your hands to yourself" is a hillbilly rock song worthy of praise and one I'd forgotten. "Drive" by the Cars and "New Sensation" are probably the two best produced videos on the DVD. They both show off the groups and are more "classy" than the others. All in all, I sure yearn for the days when MTV played videos all day and night long and allowed us to enjoy music in a whole new way. I also yearn for videos where the people in them seemed to be having fun.... Worth the 8 bucks it costs!

This is actually a great DVD. The video and audio quality of each track are excellent and the disk has a fun selection of songs. I purchased it just for Love Shack but I had forgotten how much fun the other tracks were. I especially like the song by The Georgia Satellites "Keep Your Hands To Yourself." I had forgotten what a fun rock song that is. The only thing preventing me giving it 5 stars is the fact that the DVD has a 23 minute runtime. Surely they could have put a few more songs on the disk - the Eighties was loaded with great music videos.

another deceptive title,

Hits of the 80's sounds like a lot of videos from the 80's, not true, there are just 6 videos. Reading the description on the item when I bought it that info was kept a secret.

This is not a bad deal for $8, not a whole lot of selections some may feel but Overall a fairly decent deal. Got to get your feet wet eventually and this seems a safe way to go.

This DVD has only a few of the 1980's best works and is far far far from being a comprehensive look at it. The 1980's was the time when music exploded into the video realm; there is a huge body of work out there. This disk had but a few choice selections from that period. I specifically got this disk because it was at a very good price and it included A-ha, whose video was one of the greatest visual presentations I have ever seen, a perfect evocation of the genre of rock music and fandom.

I got this DVd for a specific music selection, hoping like many other compilation disks that it would have a nice selection of other cuts that I forgot that I liked. However, when I got it, I was disappointed to see that there were less than 10 selections and there was no added side or volume with more. Given the pitiful collection of songs here, you might want another disk.

80s music is the best.... probably the pioneer of all music if you ask me... i wish they did put more videos on the dvd but other than that they do have a great selection....
'take on me' is one of my favourite videos of all time.... i love this song.... the beat is crazy, the concept of the video is brilliant, and the song is just overall estounding... devo is on here too... if you love the 80s and these bands you will not be disappointed...
