Editorial Reviews

Review

"Well written...equally well illustrated...there is no doubt that this textbook will serve its aims." K Andersen, Editor, International Orthopaedics, May 2003
book is divided into three main sections: background knowledge, trauma and orthopaedics. The background knowledge section is excellent with a section on how to go about examining different joints, an overview of anatomy and - best of all, a section explaining in a few pages the basic methods of treatment for tendons, bones, joints, ligaments and nerves. There are lots of illustrations (diagrams and x-rays) of the different methods and I was left feeling that I had a good basic knowledge of what you could do in the case of damage to each component of the system.
Overall I think that this is an excellent book and would recommend buying it for the huge number of diagrams and x-rays alone." 3rd Year Medical Student, St George's Medical School, London, April 2004
book is easy to read and well illustrated. It is a book worth having on the shelf. It achieves its goals, which is to to provide a basic and solid faundation in the subject of orthopaedics."" Tina Traynor, Physiotherapy Ireland --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

3.0 out of 5 stars User Friendy, April 19, 2009
This book is very user friendly & easy to read.
of course, if one would wish an in-depth coverage of topics he\she would have to elaborate on them elsewhere. It is a good book to start your basics on, then continue better equipped from there to the more intimidating books :)

2.0 out of 5 stars A mediocre book., May 3, 2002

This review is from: Essential Orthopaedics and Trauma (Paperback)
This book is OK if you like books which are easy to read.
But I believe it uses too many words to tell too little. If you are a student at a serious university, it might just not be enough to pass the course.
