About the Author
Katherine Prairie advises a broad range of clients throughout North America as a partner and senior systems project manager at Stone Country Solutions Ltd. She has extensive experience working in all major database systems and their associated SQL languages and has been using SAS since 1983 in areas as diverse as application development to complex scientific models and data mining projects. She successfully designed the Database Administration FastTrack program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) while teaching and writing many of the courses in the program and is also an accomplished author of numerous manuals and online help documents. Katherine has an M.Sc. in Chemical and Bio-Resource Engineering and is an Oracle Certified Professional DBA.

This is a well written and organized introductory to intermediate level book covering SAS/SQL with many clear examples. If you want to learn SAS SQL for writing your own code or for interpreting the code generated by Enterprise Guide and you can only get one book choose this one.
If you have no exposure to SQL start with this book and then consider PROC SQL by Example: Using SQL within SAS. This book is far less redundant than the other introductory level SAS SQL book Proc SQL: Beyond the Basics Using SAS.
