I love this book! It is very informative with sections talking about the right way to cook pasta, how much, different shapes and types of pasta and even how to make gnnochi. Many of the recipes are good because you could either make your own pasta or buy pasta from the store (fresh or dried) to use. There are also little helpful hints and tips along the way in the book that address other ingredients used in some of the recipes (like how to choose, clean and cook fresh asparagus or selecting and using a fresh lemon for the peel or juice), etc.

I bought the book and immediately tried the recipe for a linguini with a honey herb cream (think that was the title). Basically, it is a cream sauce that has pine nuts, honey, red chili, basil, parmesan, lemon juice, etc. in it. You puree it all in a food processor and add to the cream/chicken stock mixture and once it's thickened a bit, add to your pasta. It has a unique and yummy flavor. Not something you'd expect in a cream sauce. I am also excited to try a few other recipes... one of which is a chicken tortellini in a chicken soup/broth that looks fantastic as well.

This is a great buy and I find many of the recipes to be quick and easy so it is especially good for a beginner, although, I think a more advanced cook might like it too.

I LOVE this cookbook! It has an amazing variety of recipes--all different kinds and ranging from work/ingredient intensive to quick and fast ones for everyday use!! I just returned from europe and many of the gnocchi and cream sauce recipes i love are included in here! Pasta is soooo much more than red sauce out of the can! This book will open the wonderful WORLD! of pasta!!!!!
