Book Description

Can strong Bible teaching be enjoyable? Absolutely-especially when it comes from the pen of Charles Haddon Spurgeon. This big collection of Spurgeon's choice works (more than 1,400 pages!) features scores of sermons, plus complete books like All of Grace and John Ploughman's Talks, all lightly updated for ease of reading.

About the Author

Beloved pastor CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON (1834-1892) was the son and grandson of Christian ministers. He was converted at age fifteen; by twenty-one, he was London's most popular preacher, ultimately speaking to crowds of six thousand or more at the Metropolitan Tabernacle. He also published many sermons and religious books.

Daniel Partneris a freelance writer and editor in Oregon. He has worked on many Barbour projects over the years, as well as collaborating with his wife, Margaret, on Women of Sacred Song-Meditations on Hymns by Women.

More About the Author

A prolific author and pastor, Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) remains a respected and influential source of inspiration and study. His classic collection of devotions for morning and evening remain a beloved treasure of wisdom and teaching for Christians.

This is not a book you just pick up for a moment; it demands attention or Mr. Spurgeon's words will go right over your heart and never touch your hear. Be prepared to sit for a bit as you digest east sentence the "Prince of Preachers" states. He has had me nodding in agreement and passionately crying at other times (I'm really not that much of a sap); but he goes deep with each spoken word. His love and passion for Christ is breathtaking and inspiring; he truly preaches Christ in a way I have never heard other preachers even try to attempt.

I honestly feel this book is a must read for the Christian that is beyond spiritual milk and ready to go deeper into their relationship with Jesus Christ. I love this book!

There are truly lots of contents but they are all over the place, you have lectures, with books, with sermons...I wish it could be more organized, better indexed. Honestly, I can't complain because of the price(although you can find all this for free online and convert it into the kindle format) I am just too lazy to do that, but I rather just buy all the books, then all sermons and etc... as separate volumes even if it costs a bit more, at least you'll always have your library well organized.

Not bad by any means and for the price I can't complain much.

Now the content itself is purely amazing, I have always been a fan of Spurgeon but had never really read his works in one single piece and I HIGHLY recommend to ANY CHRISTIAN or NON CHRISTIAN. The best explanation of the Gospel, Salvation and Doctrine of God ever published is contained here, no doubt

Spurgeon is a very good preacher, and his theology is direct and simple but powerful. The book is a must have.

This is an excellent introduction to a man that was greatly used by the good Lord. These writings are full of the love of God man, they remind and exhort you to praise and worship the Lord for He is truly worthy! Essential reading for anybody looking to deepen their walk with God.

While this has quite a bit of information, this book is very hard to follow. I recommend "The Autobiography of Charles H. Spurgeon: Compiled from his Diary, Letters and Records, by his Wife and His Private Secretary." It is in 4 volumes and can be picked up for about $10 a volume. I found it enormous and you get it arranged much better. Lots of Spurgeon's letters included.

I have used this book as a resource and I appreciate it. God used this flawed man to share information and spark thoughtful contemplation, what a legacy.
