Book Description

The Standard American Diet is defined by it's acronym, SAD. In a world where sea-salt covered pretzels and a diet soda are considered healthy alternatives, Marie Sarantakis provides an accessible introductory guide to pure and healthy eating. Marie's approach is simple and realistic. We need to integrate more raw fresh fruits and vegetables into our diets on a daily basis. This no nonsense guide will answer your basic questions, teach you the fundamental benefits of pure food, and provide you with ten days worth of raw vegan recipes. Life is too short not to eat raw and it's even shorter if you don't.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great information, great recipes, and fun to read June 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am so glad I bought this book. It's everything you could ask for from a diet book and more. It gives you a lot of information on the mistakes most of us make with the food we eat, how to correct our behavior, and why we should. It also contains recipes for vegan meals, and while I haven't tried all of them yet, the ones I have tried are just excellent. On top of all that, the book is genuinely fun to read. The author writes all of it with a fun and entertaining voice that makes reading it an absolute joy. I really can't speak highly enough about this book. Great writing, great information, and great recipes. Absolutely worth picking up a copy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Go Raw! June 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've been trying to get my family on a raw diet for sometime, and have read many books on the subject. However, this one is the best I've found- the author really knows her stuff! Well written and very thoroughly researched, this is the perfect book regarding the how and why of going raw. The bonus recipes seal the deal. Awesome!

Who would have thought that a book on food would be so fun to read? Has a strong vegan spin, but there's a chapter in there on meat as well.
