Good balance of readability, case examples,and detailed descriptions. The review questions, concept questions, and in line definitions are very helpful for learning and reviewing material.

This textbook is a very good overview of many forms of mental illness. It's a pleasurable read with good illustrations. The information was timely, up-to-date, and pertinent to contemporary issues and knowledge. I was fortunate enough to have a top-notch professor for this course who knew the text well, so that made the course much more enjoyable. If sociology or psychology is your major and you are planning on entering the field, this is one text you should consider keeping and adding to your personal library. I can gladly rate this textbook with a solid four stars.

I really enjoyed this text. It is similar to other General Psychology texts but goes into more depth about the Abnormal side to it. I had to use it for a class and found it had great information, especially on court cases and laws that deal with various forms of mental illness. It was a good and easy read. Concepts were explained clearly and it comes with a great DVD rom.

Book shipped fast and was in good condition. For a used book it's not in bad shape. The 4th edition and very similar to the 5th edition, so I'm glad I got this edition and saved some money. Overall, very pleased!

I would not recommend this seller to anyone! They do not respond back to emails and I waited for over 3 weeks and the product STILL did not ship! I ended up having to cancel my order and order from another seller! Horrible, horrible seller.I only gave them 1 star because you have to give at least one but I would definately give them negative stars if I could. You think you are getting a good deal because their prices are cheaper but this is NOT the case. Save yourself the headache and buy from a reputable seller!

this book was in very good condition and arrived promptly everything about this purchase was great no complaints

the book had arrived in what looked like new condition, hardily used and well preserved. it also came with the dvd we used in class and was great as it came quickly.

it's a good textbook, although I found out later that my professor doesn't use it very much, but it can be used for reference.

The condition of the book was okay/acceptable for me personally -- I'm not very picky about it. The only complaint I have is that it didn't follow the description the seller put up. It said there was no highlights/notes written in it when it clearly did and it had no CD-ROM (as said in the description).
