A useful handbook for accounts payable professionals. A wide-visioned summary & comparison from accounts payable operations of many companies of various types. Describe things in very details. It will be better if the best practices are more focused to be articulated. Overall, this book would enable someone in this area to achieve a more systematic perception into accounts payable.

Essentials of Accounts Payable is a great resource. I'm a practicing CPA and I found it useful.

Accounts payable is normally the first place a new accountant/bookkeeper is going to get a start within an accounting department. And this is in many ways an organization's first line of defense, so it's important to have the function well-covered. Essentials of Accounts Payable is filled with best practice information and advice that will prove insightful and useful to anybody dealing with this function.

This book is not meant to be a complete preparation for the job of accounts payable. One still must learn "debits and credits" - basic accounting. Also, every organization has its own mix of circumstances and history and is therefore unique. What is a desirable practice in one organization may not be in another as the book makes clear. By gaining information, insights and advice on the subject, one is better prepared to properly revise their own accounting policies and procedures.

Since accounting policies and procedures are not static, it pays to revisit ideas about accounts payable. This is a great book for that purpose.

I was at a job interview when the title of this book caught my eyes. I took it upon myself to take a peek before the manager returned. In all of years in a/p, I can write the book. Carefully flipping the worn pages I heard myself saying "oh I didn't know that." The manager said he purchased it to get a better understand of the a/p process. However, it has a few loose pages because his staff also refers to it. He recommend this and another a/p reference book, which I will get soon.
