After doing alot of looking I finally decided to buy this coffee maker. I comes with (2) 3 cup stainless-steel mugs and (1) 9 cup stainless-steel carafe. The coffee is nice and hot and stays that way to the last sip. This coffee maker is well built. It's cheaper since it dosn't come with all the extra features you won't use anyway. You can't buy a coffee maker this good for under $50. This is a great deal.

I feel like I'm pretty well qualified to comment on this item: I have actually used two of them for long stretches. I have one at home, and shared an office with someone who owned another.

To address some of the comments in the previous negative reviews, neither leaks (well, more on that later), and the heating elements on both are still going strong. Also, the plastic doesn't seem much cheaper than 99.9% of the other home coffee makers out there, which are also made with plastic.

And now for the positive comments. Somebody said it keeps coffee piping hot until it's done. That's nuts, unless you're gulping it directly from the carafe, or sharing it with four or five other people. That's the primary problem with this coffee maker - the carafe loses heat very rapidly, at least compared with other carafes. Coffee is lukewarm at best after two hours - I expect it to still be hot after four.

The other significant problem I've had is that it overflows occasionally. This could be because I make a strong pot of coffee. But on five or six occasions, after much hissing and burbling, I've realized that the water is not making its way through the filter into the carafe. Instead, it's dripping out of the basket that holds the coffee and filter, back in the chamber where the water is heated. Big pain in the butt, requiring much cleaning and hassle. The lesson seems to be to make sure your filter is aligned the right way, and also to fold the seams of the filter (the conical, No. 4 kind) over before putting it in the basket.

If I hadn't paid a ridiculously small sum (less than this price BEFORE rebates) on another site, I would give it two stars. But it gets another star for value, and the fact that I'm considering another one for work (I'm not sharing an office anymore).

I didn't order this from Amazon but got it from another on-line retailer. This coffee maker now resides in the local dump. Both of the coffee mugs leaked slow leaks. The Carafe leaked so badly it barely held water. The coffee maker itself was cheap plastic. Extremely low tech device.

Coffee is heated and then dispersed from two small tubes. If you want to use just one leaky coffee mug be sure to place it so both the tubes will drip into the leaky coffee mug. If you want two leaky mugs of coffee then be sure to position both leaky mugs so they each get their own tube to leak from.

If you want a leaky Carafe, grab hold of the cheap plastic housing, turn it over and turn the cheap plastic knob on the back. This extends the cheap plastic housing a couple of inches so the leaky Carafe can fit under the two tubes. Now your ready to make a BIG mess !!!

Did I mention this thing leaks?

I purchased this coffee maker as a replacement for one that had lasted a couple of years and then died. This one lasted 35 days and would no longer heat water. When it worked, it was very difficult to keep the coffee warm enough for more than 15 minutes, even in the carafe. I would strongly recommend that you reconsider the purchase of this coffee maker.

For the price, this coffee maker is not bad at all. The carafe and two travel mugs are worth the price of what the entire unit costs. One thing I like about it is that the coffee doesn't sit on a warmer plate and taste bad later. I like coffee so I make enough to fill the carafe, which is about right for me. The carafe doesn't keep the coffee hot as long as more expensive units, but I'm happy with it. The travel mugs are pretty nice, too. I like the size and the way the "sipper seal" works. I probably have a dozen travel mugs and I like these better than most of them. Like I said, for the price this is a good unit.

I have purchased two of these coffee makers. The first one was for my girl friend (so I could have coffee when I visit her!) and I liked it so well that I bought one for myself. So what if I do have three coffee makers in the house? I use this one pretty much exclusively now but sometimes make coffee in another one and put it in the carafe so I can take it with me to another room.

I recommend this coffee maker based upon the price and features. Just be careful not to put too much water in it, though. It will get coffee grounds in the resevoir and make a mess. That was my fault, but it is something to be aware of.

No matter how much I tried to correct it, the carafe leaked coffee every time you poured it. I returned it and purchased another coffee pot.

This is a fine little coffee maker. I was attracted by the dual spout feature that dispenses coffee right into two travel mugs. Personally though, I miss having a hot plate. The carafe just doesn't keep the coffee hot and warm coffee, just isn't the same. Fine for the price and great for the occasional drinker but not an ideal piece.

This company isn't known for being a quality manufacturer, but I did have higher expectations than it delivered. It lasted about 60 days, made okay coffee, and failed to impress.

Bought this item back in March of 2005 and it just stopped working in September of 2005 after only minor use (2x a week maybe).

I would like to find out how to get this P.O.S. replaced on the warranty but I can't seem to find a contact to make it happen.

Do yourself a favor and note the several reviews in here that forewarn you to look elsewhere for another coffeemaker.
