I have used Cross-Battery Assessments for over two years, and this is THE book to have in your library! Easy to read, it provides an excellent method to evaluate cognitive functioning! In school psychology, I am asked to evaluate students and then apply the results to their educational programming. Never before has it been so clear, and it has changed the way I do my job. ANYONE who does intellectual testing should have this book!

I supervise and teach psychological assessment and use this book to help students learn how to integrate different psychological tests in their reports. The worksheets provide useful guidelines for integrating data. Overall this reference helps one create reports that are useful and appropriate for both teachers and parents, as well as physicians an therapists. Jerome Sattler's Assessment of Children books are probably the backbone of my work, but this little paperback is handy when a quick overview is all that's needed or I want to present material to individuals who do not have a theoretical background in assessment and psychometry.

To any who may read the review below about updating this volume, I would like to announce, as an author of this book, that the second edition is already in progress and will contain all of the new versions of the major cognitive batteries as well as the most current principles of cross-battery assessment. The new volume is not a simple revision but more an evolution of the approach. Although some of the information in the current volume is definitely outdated, the basic ideas, principles, and approach remains as viable today as before. According to Wiley's website, the book is due out in March of 2006.

Again, the authors have given a blueprint of test interpretation using Gf-Gc theory. They also provided worksheets to ease the interpretation process. This book is an excellent companion to the "Wechsler Intelligence Scales and Gf-Gc Theory". I highly recommend this book.

I am currently doing my practicum for school psychology and this book has been a great reference tool.

I use the concepts in this book every day at work. The CD that comes with the book is easy to download and it has many new tests to enter and create clear graphs of test scores. I attach the graphs to the end of my reports and then use them to explain results to families. I actually bought two copies and recommended the book to all of my coworkers.

The Cross Battery Assessment approach is helpful for anyone conducting psychoeducational evaluations of children. The approach will help yield significant insights into the child's cognitive strength and weaknesses. The results of the Cross Battery evaluation can be translated into recommendations for teachers and parents.

This book and tape are excellent. This technology is a neccessary addition for any educational assessment professional. Special educational evaluations for learning disability services are requiring far more than a simple yes/no analysis. This tool bumps the level of sophistication up to a new level, and makes testing far more precise.

The main reason for this purchase was to use the forms on the CD-Rom. I had our technology specialist load this on my computer at school, but he was unable to because it has a virus on it. He opened the package and it had not been used yet. I did contact and request a new CD on 4-4-08. The book is woderful, but the CD is what I really need to access the forms.

The material this book was written on is considerably out of date and not useful to professionals at this time. I would hope the authors would update their work.
