I find this book excellent for anyone starting in the field of dental assistant or as a review book for someone who is already an assistant. I am just learning and borrowed the book and had to buy it. It covers everything in detail from anatomy,infection control,patient care, radiography, all forms of denistry procedures needed and much more. There are exercises and flash cards and 623 pages full of information. A GREAT BOOK. Its a must for any dental assistant. There are alot of pictures, layouts and diagrams. I enjoy every minute of it.

Debbie and Doni have done a tremendous job with this book; now, a video series is available that demonstrates a lot of dental assisting procedures: Oral Surgery, Periodontics, Restorative Dentistry, Radiography, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Treatment Plan Presentations, Professionalism & Infection Control, and Patient Management. The videos are available ... and provide an invaluable orientation to dentistry for assistants and/or front desk people.

I am the Owner/ Director of a small Dental Assisting School and we USE this as our textbook.

It is well organized, and easy to use. Throughout the book, important points are bulleted and highlighted in prominent areas for quick reference. Everything a new dental assistant ( or dental assistant who needs to refresh) would need or enjoy is available in this book.

My suggestion for self-study is to purchase the workbook ask well. In this manner you will be able to test your knowledge.

Great book for learning or review. Covers just about everything. Great photos and explanations. I would definitely recommend this book for beginning dental assistants, or those who just want to brush-up and/or familiarize themselves with all areas of dentistry. Also great for certification prep.

its a really great book, i can totally recommend it. im already a certificated assistant and its really helpful for refreshing everything.
