Focusing primarily on studies of profile validity and external correlates, the revision also includes interpretive guidelines for several scales that will be introduced into the MMPI tests in 2000.

James N. Butcher is professor of psychology at the University of Minnesota. The author of numerous articles and books on the MMPI, he was a member of the MMPI Restandardization and Adolescent Project committees. Carolyn L. Williams is associate professor of epidemiology in the School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, and coauthor of two previous books on the MMPI.

This is an incredibly useful book. I liked the layout and the use of tables, that are quick and easy to review for interpretations of different subtests. The review of profile types is well planned and easy to follow, the descriptors are very down to earth, the adjectives used are "user friendly." I would recommend this to anyone interpreting MMPI profiles.

This is a very good resource if you have to interpret one of these things by hand. It has both MMPI 2 and A well covered but not the newest as of 2009. I am glad to have it but soon it will be out of date.

I first saw an MMPI almost 48 years ago. Used it from time to time over the intervening decades. Kept upon with the revisions. Am always impressed with how useful it has been. Enjoyed this format. Looking forward to the next one!
