5.0 out of 5 stars Very good book, April 16, 2007
This review is from: Essentials of Managing Treasury (Essentials Series) (Paperback)
This book is very easy for understanding the main activities and functions of Treasury. In Russia we have a big problem with information resources, that cover this field broadly. So, this item is relevant for people, who connected with treasury management or treasury systems development.
Essentials of Managing Treasury helps me to understand basic principles of Treasury more profoundly and organize treasury system for controlling receipts and disbursements in my company in more optimal way.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good and Basic Intro on Managing a Treasury Department, February 7, 2011

This review is from: Essentials of Managing Treasury (Essentials Series) (Paperback)
This book has an expansive cover on the fundamentals of treasury operations. Although most financial practitioners may be disappointed to find out that the intermediate and advanced issues and topics were barely discussed, anybody, who is curious about what a Treasury Department is, will undoubtedly appreciate how it delicately and patiently guides the uninitiated to the concepts of cash management and investments. After getting the overview from this book, I recommend readers to brush-up on their economics, accounting, and financial management backgrounds before delving into the more intricate tropics of financial trading in equities, fixed income, currencies, commodities, derivatives and what have you. This book in particular gives greater focus on risk management, which is a subjective yet absolutely critical aspect of Treasury (and even company-wide) operations. If you are an intermediate to advanced practitioner, you might want to look for more intriguing topics from somewhere else.
