This book is excellend for graduate and undergraduate students alike. Fortunately this book was written by someone who knows what most students of political science want know: how to interpret data. This book is to be used with SPSS which is arguably one of the best statistical programs available.

Anecdotely, I am horrible at math. This book is light on math. It does explain the concepts behind the statistics without booging you down it too much technical jargon. You will learn Chi-square an what it is for but you are not expecte to know the formula.

This book may be light on math for students truly interested in the actuarial sciences and its apllication to political science, but for those who wnat to know how to use statistics for interpreting political science, this is the book for you.

Although this is pretty dry, even for a text book, it's still a fairly painless introduction to statistics for Poli Sci, Journalist, or Business majors. The companion book is very necessary, and the learning curve takes a steep climb around chapters 5,6, and 7. You could do worse. If you're strapped for $ the 2nd addition is not substantially lacking.

This is a decent stats book, but not as helpful as its SPSS companion. There are other books out there that do the same thing if not better and for a better price. But this book mirrors its much more useful companion, which is why they are typically assigned together.

They got it to me fairly quickly, but I wish it had been sooner for classes. In great condition like they said.

Book arrived with packaging intact but book itself was water damaged at the top and that wasn't stated in the description when I bought the book! Will not buy from this seller again.

I'm happy to say I got this book a good 2-3 weeks before the estimated delivery time. I got it before a book I ordered at the same time that was brand new and from Amazona and saved a good amount of money. Overall, I'm pleased with the order.

The book was in mint condition and only half the price of what I would have paid at my university bookstore. It also arrived in just a few days. Amazon is the best!

This was the required text for an intro course that I took. This book is definitely not for beginners. It is too wordy which makes it difficult to understand. If you're a Political Science professor, for the love of God do not give this book to your students.
