I got this text for an online class and so it has basically been my sole "teacher" for statistics. Even though it has been a while since I have taken any math at all, Gravetter has made learning straightforward and relatively easy.

Each concept is explained logically and clearly with examples, and to reinforce comprehension there are very good analogies in the text boxes on the side. After explaining each concept there is a step-by-step example, and then practice problems are given in sections throughout the chapter to be sure you are understanding the material. The few times I have not gotten something correct, a quick review has shown me it was my own oversight and not a problem with the way the book explained the material.

There are a couple of editing errors, but nothing too confusing.

I also got a copy of the workbook that goes with the text and for me it has really helped reinforce the material before exams.

I totally recommend this text, and believe if someone wants to learn statistics on their own, it can absolutely be done with this text and not much more (maybe the study guide). There is even a quiz of relevant "prerequisite" math knowledge in one of the appendices. If you get a few problems wrong, the concept is explained in a short review section. Awesome!

It is the only text I plan to keep. It will be a great backup as I learn research.

I had to buy this book for class. That being said the book was relatively easy to understand. I am not a "math person" and the statistics class I was taking was on-line only, so I had to understand the material. This book was great for me because it explained and gave examples of problems. The on-line assistance available was nice even though I didn't have time to really use it.

I just received the book today it was a fast eficient service, on page on the book seemed to have a little damage from what appears to be a coffee stain, but overall it seems to be in good condition. Thank you for your fast delivery and service.

Initially I was a little disappointed because the order shipped on the very last day possible. I am not yet through the second chapter and the binding is completely falling apart. Because of the books condition I will not even be able to sell it back. I am not a fan at all.

Was very happy to receive this book so quickly. I had ordered it from "another site" more than a month earlier and it never arrived. I was getting anxious with the start of the semester fast approaching and not having a book.

I was able to find a decent priced version right away and received it in a timely manner.

Would definitely order form Amazon again!

I am currently required to use this book for an online class. Ordered the Study Guide to help with learning the material and this has been a complete waste of money and my valuable time. The book constantly states: 'picture this' -- well learning statistics is not a picture this kind of topic. The review questions do not follow the material in the chapter and is often confusing. The Study Guide needs revising and should be as professionally presented as the book. The answers are not worked out nor is the work shown. The answer is just given with very little explanation or justification. The book often repeats itself and terminology is often confusing. There must be better presented statistics books that a college or university can use for a class.

An excellent book and has made me less nervous about taking a
statistics class. I thought the writing was very clear and concise and I appreciate
the "Learning Checks" that are included after the chapter sections. These
"Learning checks" tells me whether or not I grasped the concept.
I highly recommend this book to any student taking a statistics for
behaviorial science class.
