Very practical, real life projects easy to read makes you think on your own, not retype code from the book. I have recommended this book to about six people and all of them loved it. RE to previous review You are probably in the dark about everything that concern computers, try learning DDS first and some basic RPG.

Great Book for a solid understanding of Subfiles,
This review is from: Essentials of Subfile Programming and Advanced Topics in Rpg (Paperback)
I read this book a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed it. I thought that it was very easy to understand and that it taught in a very systematic approach. I worked through all of the exercises(in RPGIV) and felt they were great! I liked how for the first few chapters he gives you every bit of code and then after a while he challenges you by giving you the concept and some snippets of code, and then sends you off to make modifications to you project. It's also set up just like a textbook. Great Book!

I am still in the dark about sub files,

The book starts off with a sample subfile program with sample RPG coding. It then goes on to adding Windows. How do you do it? There is no sample coding to go along with it. This book was not written for someone "learning" subfiles. You would be better off getting out an IBM manual and saving the money.
