Decent Collection,
By The Scenario (Roseville, MN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Essentials (Audio CD)
Between this collection and the previously-issued "Big Hits N' Nasty Cuts", there is a fairly definitive Twisted Sister compilation somewhere. And in fact, this is the better of the two, highlighting some of their overlooked harder-edged cuts like "I Believe In Rock N' Roll", "Stay Hungry", "Love Is For Suckers", and "Come Out And Play". However, it does leave out several of their well-known singles like, "I Am (I'm Me)", "Bad Boys of Rock N' Roll", "The Price", "Be Chrool To Your Scuel" and "Hot Love" (all except the last two are available on "Big Hits"). It also improves over "Big Hits" by having remastered sound, and by NOT including a bunch of awful live tracks. It could be a better collection, but as a primer for Twisted Sister, this is the best place to start. And the price is right, too.

Solid Sister from start to finish - well recommended,

First off, I want to state that I have always thought that Twisted Sister was the best band name I had EVER heard. Another band that died before "my" age of CD's - I owned every Twisted Sister album at some point, just not on CD. This disc is remastered, so the songs sound a lot clearer than I remember 'em to be back in the 80's. Every track on here is one I like - there isn't any wasted space with a "new track", or some lame track I don't like. Solid Sister from start to end. Well recommended (unless you don't like 80's metal <g>)
In fact, I'd say that it's far better recommended than the band's "Official" compilation album, "Big Hits & Nasty Cuts". There's an awful lot missing from that one, plus there's live "filler", too. Don't bother with that one, this is the one to get.

I Wanna Rock!,
This review is from: Essentials (Audio CD)
Most of Rhino's new "Essentials" series are skimpy and redundant, but this one works fine, since I prefer the selection here better than that on the existing Twisted Sister hits CD, which has a few too many lengthy live tracks, and the remastered sound is excellent. The curious should definitely start here, the veterans will enjoy this as a one-stop overview. Track listing : 1. We're Not Gonna Take It. 2. I Wanna Rock. 3. Leader Of The Pack. 4. You Can't Stop Rock N' Roll. 5.Stay Hungry. 6. Under The Blade. 7. Come Out And Play. 8. Love Is For Suckers. 9. I Believe In Rock 'N' Roll. 10. The Kids Are Back. 11. I'll Never Grow Up, Now! 12. Shoot 'Em Down.

Just wanted to say that this collection reflects the highlights of Twisted Sister's career. All songs are great and the digitally remastered sound quality is superb. As Dee would say, "Play it loud, muthas"!
