This is by far the longest lasting nail polish I have ever used.
I love nail polish, but it seems that whenever I use it, within a day it is chipped. I have been given professional manicures as a gift several times as well, and each time, I get a chip or a smudge within 24 hours.
Recently, I picked up Essie at my local store because it was on sale, and I liked the ballet slipper color. When I got it home and applied it, I realized that it goes on nearly clear. I put it on Friday to try out the color, thinking I would redo it for a wedding on Saturday. To my surprise, it looked fresh on Saturday. I have now had the polish on for 5 days, and there is not a single chip, even though I have been doing cleaning, gardening, etc. I have a job interview today, and it seems pointless to redo my nails because the 5 day old manicure is absolutely perfect! I will certainly buy Essie again!

I swear this is a knock off product!! I own several Essie nail polishes and this is nothing like what I own. The cap is made of a cheaper plastic. Then the nail polish itself is HORRIBLE!! It goes on gloopy and is splotchy when it dries. I would not recommend this product at all. Save yourself and go to somewhere where you know you're buying the real thing!

Ballet Slippers is a lovely neutral pink...it's not too sheer but far from a heavy opaque. It's one of the more flattering pinks for brown skin tones. It's not too light. Too heavy for a french base but it wold work as a tip. Goes on best at about three coats, two looks a little streaky. It wears like all Essie polishes...easier to apply when fresh and thin.

I love this color. It's hard to say how it's different than other shimmery or pearl colors, but there's something about it that makes it special. I would describe the color as a semi-sheer, shimmery, milky light pink pearl. The only problem with this color is that it is hard to put it on without it being streaky. I'll still always own one, it looks so pretty on.

Hasn't chipped. I like that there's no formaldehyde in Essie products. It's a fun off red color that has a celebrity feel to it.
