As Essie colors appear lighter in the bottle than when they've dried on your nails, I wasn't sure if Cocktail Bling would be gray or purple. I purchased it, tried it, and was quite pleased at first, as it appeared light purple. But this is one of those *funny* colors that seems to change a lot depending on the lighting. Sometimes it looks light purple, sometimes it looks more blue, other times it seems to be an odd pale bluish gray. I really wanted to like this but I much rather a polish with a more reliable and discernable color.

Bobbing for Baubles, on the other hand, is a very nice shade of navy blue. I was worried that it would dry too dark, but am pleased to report it didn't. I really like it but think it looks better on shorter nails. Of the 2 colors I liked enough to buy from the winter 2011 collection this was the definite winner. Unlike Mezmerised [sic] which looks better on light skin tones, Bobbing for Baubles looks just as beautiful on darker shades of brown. I'll definitely file my nails down a bit just to pull this color off.

I bought this color because it looks gray in the bottle (and Essie even describes it as gray), but it changes from grayish blue to grayish purple to gray depending on the lighting. A little disappointing because I've been dying to find a great gray but I'll have to keep on looking.

This color switches from a gray-blue to a gray-purple depending on the lighting, which is pretty exciting. It also looks great with my medium-dark skin. I'm sure it will complement other skin tones too. This is my favorite Essie polish.

I ordered Cocktail Bling but received Bobbing for Baubles. Seller was going to exchange for me and sent me a prepaid label but it was just too much work so I kept it.

I hate the bobbing for baubles colour , however. A lot. It's way too dark a blue and I'm not thrilled with the formula. Oh well, I can always throw it in the box when I do my next nail polish round robin swap.

I am disappointed in Cocktail Bling--I thought it would be more of a light, concrete gray, but it leans very purple/lavender. It is pretty and goes on smoothly and dries quickly, but it's not what I was looking for. I have Bobbing for Baubles and think that is the best shade of this collection--it is a deep, rich navy that looks beautiful on. The hunt for the perfect gray continues...

Essie Cocktail Bling from the Winter 2011 collection is a gorgeous color, I am obsessed! I had been searching for the perfect pale grey and this is it. I love the color so much that I ordered two additional bottles after my first one arrived. The Essie formula is also very high quality and stayed chip free for 9 days.

Love Essie, love this color. It's a greyish, purple/blue, as odd as that sounds. Nothing but compliments since I have been wearing it. I gave 4 stars though because this polish took forever to get to me. Items I ordered days later came days before this polish. But, I do love the product.

I agree with some of the other reviewers that sometimes it looks gray, sometimes blue, and sometimes purple, but that is actually the reason I like the color. I've gotten several compliments. It's a nice winter shade without being too dark. It seems to work with my pale skin.
